Hey Hedges —
I ordered the El Rey set, but haven’t rec’d yet, so hopefully mine doesn’t have the same problem. If so though, it’s easily fixed. Some burning programs automatically insert that annoying 1-sec gap between tracks, which isn’t a big deal if you’re recording studio tracks, but when burning a concert cd with continuous sound between tracks, that little gap is indeed annoying.
I use a program from Roxio called “Easy CD/DVD Creator” and it not only doesn’t insert a gap when recording (unless you tell it to), but lets you fix other cd’s that do have the gaps. Just burn the tracks from your problem cd onto your computer, pull ’em up in the Roxio program, use the ‘edit’ function to identify and delete the silence gap that is part of the track, then resave each track to your computer and burn a new cd. Just like that, no gaps between tracks.
It might sound a little difficult, but I’m not overly technical and I learned how to do it in 5-10 minutes. The program costs $20-30, but it’s well worth it (and no, I don’t work for Roxio!). I use it to burn all my cd’s and have fixed several concert cd’s with that same ‘gap’ problem you describe, and it has other cool features too, so chances are you’d use it for stuff other than just fixing this one cd.
Any questions on it, just PM me or email me at zlh67@austin.rr.com.
Good luck!
Zack
zlh67ParticipantSame story here: ordered mine 10/9 and got an order number, but nothing rec’d so far… I emailed the store a few days ago and no response yet. 😕
zlh67ParticipantOh, and I see reference to a DVD next year? Can someone provide the scoop on that? Are there going to be any dvd’s of these performances?
zlh67Participanthmmm, so how long is it taking for everyone to get these cd’s? I ordered mine on 10/9 and was thinking even with a week to process and a week in the mail I’d have it around now, but the website still says “processing”, which I assume means it hasn’t even shipped yet.

zlh67ParticipantAs Roger Waters once said, “There are two groups of people who write songs: those that write because they have something to SAY, because they have something in their soul that they need to get out, and those that do it because they need more “product”, ie, another album.” (I’m paraphrasing, but that’s the essence of what he said — no pun intended).
It seems that the truly soulful artists are getting harder and harder to find, so congrats for finding Lucinda! She definitely doesn’t write merely to fill up another album, and that’s evident in the material she always manages to come up with. She writes from the soul and is always good to see live as well. I like some of her albums more than others, but they all have something to offer that more than justifies buying them, and when you see her live, you won’t be disappointed.
zlh67ParticipantThis and a few other bonus tracks are apparently available on the Australian import of the cd. Am betting you could find on ebay or Amazon.
zlh67ParticipantThe studio version of this Howlin Wolf cover is fine (found on the Howlin Wolf tribute cd), but her live take is much, much better. I first heard it earlier this year at her Austin show and had to hunt down a few boots that featured that track. Check out Boston, ’99. Superb sounding show and her take on Come To Me Baby is absolutely one of her best performances (and the band delivers too….).
zlh67ParticipantI got it in nice quality on cd. Interview + 4 acoustic performances with just her and Doug Pettibone. Always willing to trade! Just send me a private message…

zlh67ParticipantI have this song on cd (along with a bunch of other rare stuff) if anyone is interested in trading. zlh67@austin.rr.com
zlh67ParticipantI definitely include covers because great artists can take anyone’s song and make them their own, and Lucinda definitely does that.
This list could easily be different tomorrow, but today, it’s:
* Can’t Let Go (I love the lyrics, and musically, it brings to mind the vision of Steve Martin dancing on the porch at the end of “The Jerk”!)
* Wrap My Head Around That
* Where Is My Love (demo version)
* Come To Me, Baby (live version)
* American Dream -
