The Wilco website http://www.wilcoworld.com) has a feature where you can put in a request for a song at a show you will be attending.

What is interesting is that Nina Simone made her debut concert LP at Town Hall singing “Fine and Mellow” in 1959

along with the Love Band, Elvis Costello (Who joined Lu for “Change the Locks” and “Jailhouse Tears”) and Willie Nile. Very nice people.

I did not care for Jenny. I miss the Love Band. Doug’s guitar was too low in the mix. “Joy” was bad. It just didn’t rock out. I missed Taras’ bass line in “Essence” The set list was not mixed up enough. Too many slow tempo songs in a row. “Drunken Angel” into “Pineola” for example. “Rescue” is a great opener, but I would not have followed it with “Ventura” I would have rather not had a warm up band and have Lu play more. Her set seemed short. (I am tired of this damn so called NY curfew Lu mentions every time she plays NY.) The sound in Radio City was great though…
