WebMASTAParticipant
Thanks you guys. You know in a previous life I was a recording engineer. So when you wear the hat of presenting this to fans, I’ve come to believe that the whole experience is best. The edit really starts to get into removing the magic.
As for the second set…
Because I was recording the stream and then editing it for on demand playback, the second set was too inconsistent to present. Therefore if it does become available it would have to come from a post show mixing effort. If Tom and Lucinda decided to do this it will be based on available time, schedule, label aproval money etc. You never really know if these things are gonna be done til they’re done.Enjoy
WebMASTAParticipantGood ear.
Yes that noise is in the recording. These recordings were made onto a separate computer during the stream to capture them quick and get them on the website as soon as possible. The sound card on the capture machine caught those windows beeps as a lot was happening that night.
The intention is to replace them when the team is back from the road and a mix can be done.I adjusted the volume of the recording but not the EQ and did minor edits. That was one edit I wanted to remove but in the spirit of leaving everything Lucinda said that night (with the exception of the Jailhouse false starts).
Whats your vote edit it out or not?

WebMASTAParticipantClear your cache. The old home page links have been updated to make this work so that where ever you are the site player stays on the song your listening to. Each browser has different methods to clear temporary pages. So clear saved pages and you should be good.

WebMASTAParticipantHave people noticed that there are roughly 90 sec samples from all of Lucinda’s studio album in the records section. If you click on the album covers or the the album names in the listing you get the songs listed for each album and if you click on the song names you can hear the sample.
I’ve been wondering if people are catching on to this. But then again this crowd is so full of people who already know these songs.
Just curious,

New Reach ConsultingWebMASTAParticipantThanks for the compliments here in the open forum. They are very much appreciated.
None of these ideas would have been possible unless Tom hadn’t
1) Approved the overall direction and
2) Been so supportive of the idea to give back as much as possible to the fans. Also, Lucinda being such a great artist, is a great motivator.
Cheers,

LucindaWilliams.com WebmasterWebMASTAParticipantThe thanks for this webcast really goes out to a group of people. First Tom Overby for being the brainchild of this whole thing. He asked me how we could get this done and I tried to talk him out of it because it would be expensive to not have it glitch all night. You really have to pay a streaming company to do this right if you end up getting a lot of people logged onto the stream. So after talking to a few streaming partners and hearing it would be some serious bucks, I approached Lost Highway’s new media department to see if they would help out.
Michael Deputato the head of new Media stepped up and found a company Wazoo sports out of Kentucky run by Doc Carpenter, who were willing to do the webcast in exchange for ad banners on the site during the performance. Doc Carpenter provided a streaming tech, Seth Mitchell to fly to MN and oversee the webcast and tapped into audio from the board. Something Tom had arrange before hand. Also Shawn Kirkham from UMG Lost Highway’s New Media department oversaw the chat room dev and flew to the provide images to Shawn and Seth to rotate in the player during the event.
I have to say this really was a great event, from a sound quality, band performance and the overall great effort from a team of people at Hello Cleveland Management, Lost Highway Records and Wazoo Sports. The skipping towards the end of the second set, ended up being the internet connection at the club just getting totally bogged down. So given that was really a bonue considering this was meant to be a listening party for the album I walked away really happy.
Cheers,

New Reach ConsultingWebMASTAParticipantHi Everyone,
Thank you for the nice comments. I thought I’d take a few moments and fill people in on the New Lucinda Williams.com. I asked Inside Job (Tom) if I could take on the job of rebuilding Lucinda Williams.com about a year ago. And just before the spring tour, I was pleased to hear that, after some thought, Tom agreed to let me do it. So along with the great support of the Lost Highway New Media department, here we are with a new site in time for the release of Little Honey.
In case people haven’t browsed around… all the content areas are greatly improved, with lots more being planned by team Lucinda. The set lists area is now easier to navigate and the current road crew is gathering all the latest set lists from this year to be uploaded. The records section in now complete with fairly lengthy (45-90 secs) song clips (thanks to her label for approval on this) from all of Lucinda’s officially released album tracks. Also the photo section is greatly expanded with photos with plans to add many more photos.
Upcoming site plans include a Lucinda curated radio station, a new and improved merch store, complete with official tour merchandise and Lucinda Williams music in both physical and MP3 format. So stayed tuned and check back frequently, as the site is being feed daily from Lost Highway and Lucinda herself.
Thank You,
Ralph Cavallaro
