Thank You so much Stoger. Your songs list is great.
Last Saturday’s concert is my favourite out of the three I’ve been to.
Lucinda’s voice was better than ever. Her sound, her words, her music are still in my head. It’s like putting music to your own life. So, thank you Lucinda Williams for that.

Eventhough I could not go to the rest of the concerts in Spain, I believe Bilbao’s was the best one. At least, I feel it was incredible. Lucinda gave it all during more than 2 hours. As soon as Lucinda felt connected, after the disturbing noise she was listening to was gone, our “blessed” singer even danced and our hearts were full of “Joy”.

I came to the concert with two friends who did not know any of Lucinda’s music and they were thrilled afterwards. My Argentinian friend thanked me for letting her know Lucinda and wants to start buying her music. My second friend enjoyed the show and was with me in the first rows without moving at the end.

The only thing I could say to Lucinda after signing my Blessed” cd and my ticket was, ‘Please try to come back sooner. 4 years have been sooo long’.

    Hi, there

This will be my 3rd Lucinda Williams concert after London (2007) and Bilbao (2009) I’m really thrilled. I’ve been listenting to “Blessed” for the last months continuously. I could not change it when I was driving and it was my only cd. It has calmed me down when I needed it. Really. I have just passed by a biliary vesicle / gallbladder operation and my nearly 90 years-old mother is in bed all day … I firmly believe that we all need to be “Blessed”. Yes, I do.

I’ll be wearing my San Antonio’s hat again tonight because I know Lucinda can see it from the stage and hope she’ll like it.

I believe all the tickets are practically sold out. The main local newspaper published a two page article yesterday in their weekend activities magazine.
I’ll also have the chance to speak a few words about the concert on the radio this morning just before 1 PM. Everything will help to be a success tonight.

    Hiya,

It’s so late that I’m afraid of looking at my clock … 4:23 am. Not bad.
Tonite my experience at my second Lucinda Williams has been so smashing, so great that it is hard to believe it. If the concert in the two years ago concert in London was a fantastic experience, this second one is exceptional.

By the time Lucinda Williams spoke in Spanish, she had the public in her pocket. Literally speaking. I also think that the audience from Bilbao had Lucinda Williams in their pocket from the very beginning. The expectation was so high. The willing of seeing a good concert was so evident that once Lucinda noticed it and smiled, the magic linked and never faded in the whole concert.

A concert that lasted over two hours and was very, very intense.

Here is the list of the songs that have been heard tonite:

I Just Wanted To See Ya So Bad
    Can’t Let Go
    Well Well Well
    I Lost It
    Concrete & Barbed Wire
    Tears Of Joy

    Side Of The Road
    Blue
    Fruits Of Labor

    Drunken Angel
    Pineola
    Little Rock Star
    Out Of Touch
    Changed The Locks
    Come On
    Bleeding Fingers
    Essence
    Honey Bee
    Joy
    Rightelously
    Long Way

    Marching The Hate
    Angel by Jimmy Hendrix

Lucinda was wearing a T-shirt with a big heart, a stylish short jacket, blue jeans and sport shoes like all star converse with two colour stripes on each side of the white rubber.

As you may see. Very complete.

All I can say is Thank You to all the wonderful people I have met tonite. Thank You to Stoger, Thank You to Stoger’s friend, to Eric and to Tom whose help has been brilliant.

Tonite is the night … OMG! I cannot believe it. Lucinda Williams is already in my city, Bilbao.
The weather was beautiful in the morning and is getting more clouds as the day goes on. The temperature is still high enough for us here. I guess for Lucinda and the rest of the gang, the temperature will still be agreeable for them.

The tickets are ALL SOLD OUT. Of course. Who was doubting it? Not me. This mouth to mouth news work incredible.Lucinda Williams will be very, very welcome. Lucinda is expected anxiously by an amount of people who appreciate music as good as hers.

But, where is Lucinda Williams now? At this hour, at this minute, … No matter where she’s is relaxing for tonight, I know that she will give everything as she usually does.

I will be here after the concert.

By the way, I want to let you know that if the band wishes to have dinner after the concert, I can advise a few places and also help with the reservations.

Spain is different with food timetables. Forget about UK or France’s traditions. Spain is something else.

Breakfast. You can have breakfast until 1 pm in cafes and bars. Coffee with croissant or any kind of cake and starting pretty soon the famous tapas (Spanish omelette is awesome in the middle of the morning as they cook them constantly)

Lunch: From 1 to 3 pm. Our lunches are bigger than yours. For many people is the main meal of the day. Please, have this in mind. There are hundreds of places where you can have “Menu del Dia”. Something that in France is called the “Plat du Jour” but here there are two main dishes, dessert, wine or water and sometimes coffee is included. Price starts with 10 Euros for this Menu.

Dinner: From 9 to 11 or Midnight. But, you can always make a reservation and they can wait for the band to end the concert.

In Bilbao, we do not drink so much sangria. Beer, wine and … kalimotxo (pronounced kaeleemocho) 🙄 which is red wine with coke. Served fresh.

I hope this info may be of any help.

Today, I have been for a walk around the area where I live and have discovered that the L.W. posters are gone. I must confess that I did try to get one last night (very, very late) and could not find any. So, I came back and could find one at a Driving School next to the door. I saw it and came back five minutes later. I asked the Driving Teacher if he could reserve it and he said to me”You can take it now if you want” So, I did. I have tried to iron it a bit but the steam has marked it a little bit in the middle with rounded spots. I nearly die. I’m keeping it on a shelf and will take it to the concert. I love the orange colours.

I think that the “Heart of Gold Spain” should make another round with L.W. posters.

Tickets are also available at Fnac, Bilbao. You get an original ticket with a silver band which will be a nice souvenir to remember the occasion.

I love the poster with Lucinda’s songs on the back. I think the image is modern and mixes traditional with Lucinda’s looks wearing her Cowgirl hat on.

I will wear the hat I bought in San Antonio, TX too. Yes. I will.

    Thank You, Stoger.

I really appreciate your encouraging words.

I think the posters campaign is being very good. Everytime I pass by some of them, I’m trying not to take it with me. They are so cute! When I went to Austin a couple of years ago, I could not resist the temptation to take one from a wall of Ryan Adam’s “Easy Tiger” as he was playing at The Paramount a couple of days after I left. 🙄

The media should be more in it though. Will Lucinda give a Press Conference? I would not mind to moderate it and to get the Press Conference Room free. Also a free visit to the Guggenheim Museum … Bilbao will be at your feet, Lucinda Williams!

    Thank You!

Although I know that this show won’t be better than the one in London which was extraordinary.

For personal reasons, this show in my city will mean a lot to me. It will be like finding the new me finally.

There are posters of Lucinda Williams Spanish Tour where I live which is not in Bilbao itself but nearby. The campaign now will have to be followed with listening to her music. I will try to help it from my side through the media I collaborate with. It is important that the people know her music.

Can you believe that I talked to people in Lafayette and in Austin, TX at the famous Threadgills joints (there are two of them at old Gas Stations) and had to explain them who and why Lucinda Williams was so important to be there (Austin’s Threadgills)

Yeee Ha ! I can’t wait but I will. I wish I could be in NY concerts because it’ll be my birthday at that time (Sept. 29) but what harm! November’s will be my daughter’s and it’ll be a great present for me and for her.
She’ll be 8 and sings “Lafayette” beautifully.
Thank You for coming to Europe this year !!!

(I wonder when will you come to Spain) 😉

    November

    Hi,

I’ve just joined in and was looking for any concert in Europe this year. Is it so that Lucinda will be playing in London next November?

When will we know by sure? I live in Spain and it won’t be that easy to manage getting the tickets but I missed her last year and I don’t want to do so this one. Yhanks. 🙄
