There is a well know song from the 60’s about a man who played one.

Yes- she did appear in this movie in the classic “band in the bar” scene. It was filmed in Montana and she happened to be coming thru on tour and the director was a fan so he asked if she could do the scene.

I didn’t know about this -but I think what happened is that for awhile songs that appeared in movies would show in the IMDB database-and it may not be an actual on screen appearance, but i will ask the one who would know.

The dvd’s are definitely bootlegs. The only authorized dvd’s that Lu has are the two done by ACL. It’s easy to determine what is real and what is bootleg as Lu is signed worldwide to Lost Highway/Universal, so if its not on that label its a bootleg. While I don’t mind bootlegs being traded among fans etc., obviously I would have a big problem with people profiting off of these. It is especially disconcerting as both of these shows were professionaly filmed -especially the Cologne show which was for Rockpalast. They were the only two shows that were filmed from that tour. I am going to notify Universal in the UK to have these removed. I believe Tom tipped me off on a dvd that was being sold on Amazon in Europe and that was taken down immediately, so I do appreciate being made aware of these.

She seems to be enjoying it -I think it’s bringing back a lot of memories -she was saying how it was making her want to go there again

I only have footage of the three songs Lucinda sings so I can’t confirm the songs -but I believe it was an hour show so it’s probably right.
Haven’t seen the ACL but Mr. Lauderdaie was an official Sugacane -he did all of the shows on the short tour and was on the record.

The band on AMS is as follows:

    Mark O’Connor -Fiddle
    Brent Mason -Guitar
    John Jarvis -Keyboards
    Jerry Douglas -Dobro
    Glenn Worf -Bass
    Harry Stinson -Drums

    Time for a new one.

Hey TNT -you’re undercutting the reissue. I’m going to have to crack down.

A Bozo badge is the highest honor anyone can achieve.

Also -on the Neil front -during the upcoming Grammy week Neil will be honored as Musicares Man Of The Year and Lucinda, Emmylou and Patty Griffin will be performing Comes A Time at the show. Should be a great night.

Musicares is an organization that helps musicians with health care, substance abuse etc.

The third part of the question could be:

Lu sang a couple of songs at a show this year with a band that included Jerry Douglas–name it.

Also -I was recently given all of the footage for the American Music Shop -which includes additional songs (and no subtitles) -and the closing credits–so just let me know when you “give” and want the names of the additional band members.

More coming soon -Lu has been working on a much more extensive list- I posted these first two without realizing that she was putting together a much bigger list.

Lu said that most of the places that she used to play or hang out at are not there anymore, but she did remember a couple of places that have survived and she’s going to try and think of others:

    Irene’s
    539 St. Philip
This is an Italian restaurant that she used to play at. I’ve not been there with her.

    The Coffee Pot
    714 St. Peter
Lu and I went here when she played NO in the spring -a great old breakfast place that is one places that is lost in time. I won’t spoil the surprises. Lu used to go here back when she lived in NO. You might have to wait at the door but it’s worth it.

Butch also appears in the Nov/Dec issue of Drumhead Magazine. It’s a rather lengthy interview -in fact it takes up about half the issue. But of course the wit and wisdom is not something that can be covered with a mere 100 words.

Consider this case officially solved. Itchy Skin has all the info in a post above so no need to repeat it here.
The version of Blue that was in question is indeed the one from KGSR.
