TOverbyParticipant
The Austin show was officially confirmed today and I didn’t realize it until now but we had/have the wrong date up -it is actually 5/7 not 5/8. Ticket info coming soon and we will be doing a pre-sale.
TOverbyParticipantAtlanta will be the brand new Cobb Energy Ctr.
The plan right now is to go from 4-20 give or take until 5/20 give or take.
Still looking at Europe or US for mid-June and beyond. Getting offers for both.
TOverbyParticipantPre-order info coming soon -just getting thru some clearances etc. at Universal. The Kitchen Tapes does contain all 12 tracks sequenced in the same order as the regular album. It will not have separate artwork it will just be in a second sleeve in the deluxe package.
TOverbyParticipantJust got off the phone confirming this–because of overwhelming demand we are now adding a 3rd solo show in Mpls on 2/22.
TOverbyParticipantActually that’s not who Lu is referring to in the interview -that’s a separate thing. Great find on those two truck photos.
February 1, 2011 at 8:23 pm in reply to: World Without Tears & Little Honey re-released – clear vinyl #45385TOverbyParticipantI’m sure those will be included also -as well Car Wheels which has never been on vinyl.
TOverbyParticipantI think it is very possible if not probable that we will revisit that area in the not distant future. This first run is a rather broad sweep of the country dictated by the album release date and having to end up at SXSW in Austin for the Lost Highway 10th Anniversary show. The rest of the year will be a little more concentrated in certain regions including those which we are crossing thru on this run.
TOverbyParticipantNo they were not taken in New Orleans.
TOverbyParticipantThe vinyl will include both Blessed and Kitchen Tapes cd’s. There probably won’t be any way to pick the covers but I am going to try and see if I can at least make that happen on this website. It was way too complicated otherwise.
TOverbyParticipantTo answer the question from upthread, the Deluxe cover shown is 1 of 8.
The non-Deluxe version has just the one cover (the kids) and the vinyl/cd has just one cover also (Dolly with the fingernails).TOverbyParticipantI am sorry the you are upset, but please allow me to answer. First-yes the idea was mine. We decided that we wanted to do a few solo shows in small intimate settings right before the album came out and the Dakota was one place that I thought of. I was surprised at how fast the ticket sales went for these shows, and we were offered a third show but we couldn’t fit in. The live music market is very hard to judge right now and we generally err on the safe side. Obviously knowing what I know now we probably could have done 4 or 5 nights there, and I really wish that would’ve happened, however there was no way of knowing that until it was too late. The general plan for the solo shows was to play a few places that we couldn’t do with a band, and also to play places that we felt we could come back to with the band later in the year and that is the case with Mpls. We do plan on coming back with the band a little later in the year. I am watching this forum and if we end up with a few extra tickets I will contact the people in here to see if they still want to go. I can’t make any guarantees, but I am keeping track in case I do end up with a few extras.
TOverbyParticipantThe Its A School Night show, is put on every Mon. by Chris Douridas of KCRW, and Chris has been asking Lu since last year when he started off this Monday night series with Chrissie Hynde.
Lu and band are going to do it on Feb. 14th. with a 45-50 minute set that will feature several new songs. Someone else will also be playing after Lu, and I know Chris is trying to get someone who would make for a great night, but I don’t know if he’s been successful. Ironically Bardot is right across the street from Capitol where the record was recorded. It’s upstairs from the Avalon theatre and a great intimate room, that apparently used to be a speakeasy back in the 40’s. With the restored art-deco surroundings it still feels like one.TOverbyParticipantYes
TOverbyParticipantNo- tickets are not on sale yet -probably in the next couple of weeks -but we will be doing a presale again also.
No other show in Tex at this time but not ruling it out- the only thing close to being added in this time frame is Memphis on 4/30–but many more coming soon.TOverbyParticipantWe’re working on it. Whenever we come to Europe we will always play the Netherlands -always great audiences and great cities.
