TOverbyParticipant
You heard it here first -actually a few days ago -but I will confirm it here first with press release in the next couple of days. As part of the 9/16 show at Tipitina’s in N.O. Lucinda will be inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall Of Fame.
That is going to be a fun night. In other news it looks like we will be adding a 2nd show in Saxapahaw NC as the first one sold out in the blink of an eye. It also looks like the 9/22 show is looking very positive but I will know more tomorrow.
TOverbyParticipantPDL– Lu is a big fan -we just got the new one but haven’t listened to it yet
TOverbyParticipantNo, Ellnora is not solo. All of the Sept shows are with the band.
TOverbyParticipantGood question Paul -no, the second night will not be a Rough Trade night -it will be a separate little celebration of it’s own.
TOverbyParticipantNo it hasn’t -we are considering something but I don’t think it’s going to happen at this point -but of course that could change.
TOverbyParticipantTo answer some questions from above –Philly is at the Keswick in Glenside.
Not doing the Blue Door. The first show is Tulsa.TOverbyParticipantTony is correct. Because we created the masters at the show there was no time to add the metadata. (Wow -look at Tony throwin’ around the high-tech hundred dollar words. Is synergies far behind?) 🙂
TOverbyParticipantHere is the info about this show -straight from the source:
Working Californians will be announcing the event tomorrow, Friday August 9, 8:00 am PT. The announcement will include information for a presale that will start tomorrow at 10:00 am PT through Sunday 10:00 pm PT exclusively to AXS.com members, WCA, IBEW 11 & 18 membership.
Tickets will go onsale to the public Monday August 12 at 10:00 am PT
TOverbyParticipantThe event was moved from the Nokia Plaza to Parking lot 7 to accommodate a larger crowd and stage. I will see if I can get the password -are you sure there is one. I can try and find out.
TOverbyParticipantHere is the info for tomorrow’s presale in Philadelphia:
The presale will run tomorrow (8/8) from 10am-10pm: http://www.axs.com/events/243947/lucinda-williams-tickets
The password is LucindaDon’t miss a VERY special evening with the Grammy Award-winning songwriter when she celebrates the 25th anniversary of her groundbreaking debut album by performing it in its entirety – including such hits as “Passionate Kisses”, “Crescent City”, “Changed the Locks” and more. Plus, a second set with even more hits and fan favorites!
TOverbyParticipantWe have just confirmed 9/21 in Philadelphia at the Keswick -so Sept is almost complete:
I think all of them will be announced and have presales this week and next.9/6 -Tulsa (Cain’s)
9/7 -Champaign (festival)
9/9 -St. Louis (Pageant)
9/10 -Memphis (Minglewood)
9/12 -Dallas (Strauss Square)
9/14 -Austin (Stubb’s)
9/15 -New Orleans (Tipitina’s!)
9/16 -New Orleans (Tipitina’s!!)
9/18 -Saxaphaw, NC
9/20 -Bristol, Tenn (festival)
9/21 -Philadelphia (Keswick)Sorry -we do love Atlanta but didn’t work for this little run.
With the exception of something we are trying to work out on 9/22 this will probably be it for Sept. before we head home to make the next record(s).TOverbyParticipantYes -there will be presales for all the (non-festival) shows including Stubb’s -Stubb’s presale will go up tomorrow at 10 am CST on Lucinda’s facebook fanpage.
TOverbyParticipantA second show has been added at Tipitina’s for 9/16 -it’s going to be a very special show-but give out the details yet.
We also confirmed two more shows:
9/12 -Dallas
9/18 -Saxapahaw NC (near Durham)Almost got them all confirmed== finally.
TOverbyParticipantThanks for pointing that out -really great piece. Didn’t know about it until you linked it here. Apperciate it.
TOverbyParticipantThat’s funny – we ran into Electric Earl a year or so ago and he reached out said he had some footage from a Hank Williams tribute night at the Palomino in ’93-really great footage of three songs as it turns out. Ironically enough I just emailed him to see if he had anything else from those Palomino days.
