We just wanted it to be different, and honestly Elvis thought the track was so great that he was hesitant to even make it a duet. It is the same recorded version but the album version is the new Bob Clearmountain mix and a different mastering also.

Good review -thanks for posting. But apparently he didn’t listen all the way because Elvis is not on the album version of Kiss Like Your Kiss.

We are working on finishing the April/May shows as we speak -should have more dates by the end of the week if not sooner.

There were a couple reasons why Port Arthur was left off -mainly because Lucinda wasn’t sure if it was the best version -though we all thought it was. There were a couple other thigs like that. In addition we weren’t really sure if it fit with this group of songs. It will appear -since the Blessed sessions she has continued writing and already has several great things written for the next record.

Good timing on your question- I was just informed this morning that the pressing plant where Lost Highway does there vinyl ran out of clear vinyl so on the first pressing of 2500 there will be 1000 clear vinyl and 1500 white vinyl and all future pressings will go back to clear vinyl.

More often than not they don’t listen to the record– and it’s pretty obvious when they don’t as in this case as that isn’t the tone of this record at all. Not even remotely. But you know-whatever.

It might be out there on an old bootleg somewhere but i’ve never seen it -and i’ve never heard the song. I do have the lyrics, which were among the 20+ songs I recently discovered-mostly from the period between Happy Woman Blues and the Rough Trade record. Most of the songs were never recorded and only a few of them were ever played live.

Yes –it’s the first line of a song she wrote back then called Ramon’ that she has never recorded.

I have managed to figure out that one of his names is Duncan and someone named Steve Wampler responded to him in an old thread. He also mentioned in another thread from 2007 how great it would be for Lu to play the Blue Door. C’mon Dunc where are you?

Right now we are looking for someone who doesn’t have their own thing -someone who is willing to make a real commitment. It’s not easy bringing in a new guitar player and having him need to learn almost a hundred songs -as Lu likes to be able to play anything at any time. We do have some great candidates coming in to audition this week, so we’ll find the guy.
