For the last couple of years all the shows up in the NE have done fantastic -pretty much sell outs across the board and very appreciative audiences so the real thanks goes to all the people in those places that are so supportive. It’s pretty simple- when people come out to see you it’s easy to come back. But I do very much appreciate the thank you and all the support you’ve given over the years.

So as I stated yesterday some of the dates were tentative and I just got the first change to what I listed yesterday. The 10/26 show will now be Baltimore at the Ram’s Head instead of Norfolk. I am going to edit my earlier post to reflect that. I hope I didn’t jump the gun by posting those tentative dates yesterday, I apologize for any inconvenience.

The only one that I know that got seriously discussed was one for Right In Time. She had a meeting with a then well known movie director about his idea for the video. She hated the idea and…well let’s just say that by the end of the meeting she thought even less of him.

Chattanooga should be confirmed soon and the presale will go right after that. We have been using BLESSED as the password.

The Gruene show will include a 45 minute solo set (or with Blake)– an intermission– then a regular full band set.

The only LA area show will be the Henley opening slot, which will of course be a shorter opener set. The tour will finish this year in SF 11/19 & 20.

I can say almost definitely there will not be a Lucinda show in Nashville during the AMA’s. I would put the chance at about 1 %.

Was debating whether to start a separate thread but i’ll just put this here for now. Keep in mind that most of these are all tentative at this point. There are many dates left to be confirmed and the majority of them will probably get done this week but some of the key shows are confirmed. Right now it’s looking like we will be starting 10/7 at Gruene Hall in Gruene Tx with Dallas and Houston after that. St. Louis and Little Rock are possibilities here. We will continue moving east thru the south with a quick stop at the AMA’s in Nashville -but no show there yet. After Nashville, Mobile, Birmingham and Oxford are in the picture. We will be at the Magnolia Festival in Live Oak,Fl on 10/21 and probably St. Petersburg on 10/19-these will be the first shows in Florida in several years. After that we start heading back north with Chattanooga and Athens and Norfolk possibly falling here. Then we head to Allentown and Philadelphia and Long Island. We will probably start to head back thru the midwest and west at that point. The finishing point will be the Fillmore in San Francisco on 11/19 & 20 and that will wrap up 2011.

On another note the idea right now is that these shows will be significantly different than the sets we played this summer with the plan being to have some surprises. Hopefully we can make that happen.

And yes, we will be opening for Don Henley on 9/17 at the Greek Theatre here in LA. I should have given a heads up on this show but it was a busy re-entry week from the road and this show just came up a little over a week ago so it happened very fast.

I understand it goes with the territory but sometimes I just shake my head and wonder what some people see. Everyone in the band felt like this was an excellent show – because to be honest Lu was a little agitated at the beginning about some things and she brought that edge to the show. This being the third night in a row outdoors in 100 degree heat it would’ve been completely understandable if she was exhausted but she was fired up and ready to go. Same with the last three nights of this leg. She was having heart palpitations about 2/3 of the way thru in Raleigh and insisted on finishing. That was the most scared I’ve ever been because I could see that something was wrong and she was holding her hand over her heart. It was the first I even considered stopping the show. After all the shows in the heat on this past leg she had everyone in the band and crew amazed at a what a warrior she is.
So anyway…Mailed it in NH? Not even close that night -or any night -frankly she doesn’t know how -it’s just not in her makeup -she sings at soundchecks like she sings in the shows. She will have her off nights but she never just mails it in-she always goes out and gives everything she’s got.
Ok -got that off my chest.
