We really wanted to do a Brisbane show and it was originally in the plan, however the Australian promoter thought that it would be affected by the Byron Bay shows. He was also very skeptical about doing Adelaide-apparently he had some shows recently that have not done well there. Believe me, we wanted to do more than the shows we are doing.

Right now it’s just a one off with Lu solo -or possibly with a guitar player. A couple other shows may be added but nothing in the works at this point.

Unfortunately I have some updated info in regards to Europe -not all good but not all bad either. There were several reasons but Lucinda won’t be in Europe in the summer or fall. The biggest reason the summer Olympics which promoters are afraid of competing with.
I would say however that we are close to confirming two shows in London in early November. More news as I have it.

Don’t know where they got that idea -she wouldn’t have said that. There definitely will be a setlist.

Yes -we did confirm this festival -it may be a one off or it may have a handful of shows around it. But as of right now nothing larger than that.

Lucinda ended up recording two tracks, God, I’m Missing You and Storm Warning, for this project last fall at Joe Henry’s studio. There were some complications with getting clearance to use both tracks but apparently that has all been resolved as they have now set a release date. God, I’m Missing You in particular came out great.

To answer your question in full -no, the LH expiration will not affect the RT release as Lucinda owns that record outright. It may make doing the live dvd part a little more complicated (expensive) because if we end up not re-upping with LH or at a non-Universal label we will have to license it from them.

The plan is for the Rough Trade record to be the first release of the new record deal. As soon as we make that decision the RT record will not be far behind.

No plans right now but you never know. I’m sure she will do some kind of a covers record at some point -we’ve definitely talked about it. Won’t be this next record as she will be on a new record deal.

I will be posting some additional soundcheck songs soon here and on YouTube/Facebook.

It’s been pretty quiet around here recently so I figured it’s time to answer some of these questions. The answer to the above question is no. Lucinda’s current contract with Lost Highway, which started all the way back to the Car Wheels album, expired on 11/21. I have had conversations with a few labels including LH and after the first of the year those discussions will increase, and hopefully we will be able to make a decision fairly quickly about direction we will go in.

Ok- I lied -we just added another show to the Jan. dates:
    1/17- Santa Ana

I don’t anticipate adding any more. But there’s a lot of things I didn’t anticipate.

I think we now have this mini-leg with Lu & Blake finally locked in and I don’t expect any additions. Here are the dates as I have them now

    1/18– Santa Cruz
    1/20– Napa
    1/21– Lake Tahoe
    1/22– Grass Valley
    1/24– Ventura
    1/26– Solana Beach
    1/27– UCLA

Most likely these will be the only shows in the US until the summer. But of course everything is subject to change.
