Doug’s CD release party at The Hotel Café was a huge success! The Love Band rode again as Doug was joined by Jimmy Christie, Taras Prodaniuk, and Phil Parlapiano in a rocking performance of Doug’s CD “Gone”. The place was packed. FF members Grumpymama and Stellablueee came and showed their support. I’m sure LW would have been there if she were not out of town.
I video recorded this show, as well as the Bogie’s show, and I will make it available as soon as Doug sees it and approves.
Doug did a solo show last Thursday in Westlake Village CA and I video taped it. I am out of town but if and when I get home I will post it on You Tube.
I will also attempt to video this Saturday’s show at the Hotel Cafe which will be with a full band.
It happened so quickly that no one could have helped. Except you. You would have saved me.
How do you like the fact that good show reporting is described as “Stogeresque”? 🙄
The show was pretty awesome. People packed in like sardines. Good music and good clean fun closed out this great idea of a tour. I met Neil Young’s oldest son, who was pleasant and courteous. After the show various people repaired to the Velvet Margarita across the street for refreshments. Those in attendance saw me miss a step down from the bar to the lounge, 4 drinks in hand, and go sailing through the air like Underdog and crash land, unable to break my fall with my hands, on the floor with an enormous thud. Glass, booze and ice emanated from me like a supernova. I cut my hand, my head, and severely bruised my knees. I have ice bags on them now. West Words, SeaSamishMike, and my friend Matt will be talking about this for some time. My friend Matt’s face went completely white. It was a fitting finale to a great 2 plus weeks.
