Dept. Of Redundancy Dept: Another great great night -Lu and the band just continue to hit on all cylinders. Lu did a complete spontaneous improvisation at the end of Cold Day In Hell and the band went right with her -that was a great moment. Other highlights -Big Mess only played live for the 2nd time and introduced as “this is a new song-it’s about the guy who was taking care of my finances -it’s called Big Mess”. New version of Steal Your Love was great also.
2 encores -13 song debuts which puts the count a 40. Next up Seattle.
A word from T.O.:
Great 1st night in Rose Town -Portland has really become one of Lucinda’s top five markets and the sold out crowd did nothing to dispel that. Lu and the band (and crew) are just simply clicking at a very high level right now. It was great to be joined by current member of the Eels and former Lu band member, Chet Lyster for the encore.
He was very complimentary of how the band is sounding. Cool to get his perspective.
Lu loved how great East Side Of Town and Foolishness sounded tonight -also she loved the version of Stop Breakin’ Down. Lu is also really getting inside of Unsuffer Me right now. 6 tour debuts (in red below) brings the number to 27 after two nights. Should be a lot of debuts for night 2.
Lafayette, I think your sister lives in the town next to mine. We can car pool if you want! I think her Grumpyness is going too. 8)

Great first night. Even had a fight break out in the audience during Righteously -I guess that officially makes it a rockin’ night. On to Portland.

Another terrific show in the historic Parker Playhouse and another wonderful audience. This ends the World Tour Of Florida (including the Cayamo Cruise)-it seems like overtime we go back down to the Sunshine state it gets better and better. We will be back soon —in fact it will be 3/21 at the Live Oak Festival.
