I read that he has a new album in the works that will bump both Toast and The Archives releases. Typical. And still no word in the make up LA show.

OK so this reviewer guy didn’t like Little Honey and he didn’t like West. I’m over it. Although I think he liked Little Honey a little more than he let on, since he liked several songs a lot.
I guess we have to get used to every negative review, word, and thought, being just like a juicy rare steak laid out right in front of DiM. Or a home run pitch right down the middle of the plate. He is going to jump on it.
He should drop the cheerleader crap, though. It’s tiresome. Try a thesaurus already.
Interesting quote from DB, but I think he is wrong. The economy does have an impact on “quality acts”. I would even think it would be more of an impact, since they may have higher prices.
And I agree with Stella that you have to be careful when you meet artists you love because they could be jerks. Or at least a jerk for the one second they are enduring your presence.
This is a good time to say that I have said hello to every member of Lucinda’s band at one time or other in the past 5 years and every single one of them was super fabulously friendly to me and did not recoil in horror. So there.

The show was taped on 9-18-07. I forget when it was originally broadcast but there is a discussion thread on it in this forum. There has been no dvd release.
Agree Tim, in the performances I saw, Lucinda’s voice was strong and clear, and better than her vocals on Little Honey. Of course I’m a card-carrying cheerleader, so what do I know?
That’s a lot to think about. I have 2 musical discoveries for 2008, Hayes Carll and the Dedringers. I had no idea who they were when I saw them, but became a big fan instantly. I would put James McMurtry on the same list.
I didn’t go to enough shows or movies or read enough books in 2008 to make a list. I liked all of the shows I went to. I’m still pissed that Neil cancelled the LA show.
My random thought for 2008 is that is has been a terrible 8 years. It can only get better. Let’s hope it does.

Must be since those are her only appearances. I love the DVD. She certainly had a different stage demeanor back then. Wonder if Gurf still has that jacket in his closet somewhere.
