Great show by Doug tonight. There was no Love Band reunion because Taras and Jimmy both were sick and couldn’t make it. I wouldn’t be surprised if it gets rescheduled. More electric show tonight, last Thursday all acoustic. Shades of Day opened for Doug and backed him up. Doug was wailing away like crazy. His singing voice was great too. All in all a fabulous night out in Ventura.
tonygKeymasterTonight is Doug’s final night at Zoeys in Ventura for interested Southern California fans. The Love Band is supposed to play!
tonygKeymasterYa he did. And he is. Great version. I forgot to mention there was an opening act, a guitarist named Brendan Willing James, who did a few songs with and without Doug. His band, Shades of Day, joined him for one song, with Doug on guitar. Very entertaining.
tonygKeymasterGreat show by Doug tonight. No Love Band. They will be back next week he said. Massive killer acoustic guitar work by Doug. He accompanied and was accompanied by Tim Flannery, former baseball player, now a coach with the S.F. Giants. Tim played real well and has a nice voice. I.m going back next Thursday for more.
tonygKeymasterThe website is weird. It says click here for tickets but there are no Doug shows listed for tix. It does say they host a different artist each time. Maybe the Love Band is backing up the artist each night.
They even have a link to Doug’s site for tickets and you know that site has been dead as a doornail for a while.
tonygKeymasterExcellent. I am going to try and check this out.
tonygKeymasterShe did a great job on this song. Good band too.
tonygKeymasterGood interview. Thx for posting.
tonygKeymasterTOverby is cracking jokes so married life must be good.
tonygKeymasterSure sounds like LW and Doug, the way they did it in early 2006. Maybe one of the shows was recorded.
tonygKeymasterGreat pictures thx! 😀
tonygKeymasterYou are right this is a great version. I wonder if it is from her solo tour with Doug a few years ago?
tonygKeymasterTim, I mentioned to Lisa the last time I saw Bob was in Springfield Mass in 1978. That time you were there.
tonygKeymasterfrom last night:

Rollin’ And Tumblin’
Chimes Of Freedom
Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum

Most Likely You Go Your Way (And I’ll Go Mine)
My Wife’s Home Town
Highway 61 Revisited
Ain’t Talkin’
Thunder On The Mountain
Ballad Of A Thin Man
Like A Rolling Stone
Jolene
All Along The WatchtowerBob put on a great show. His voice is completely shot, and I wasn’t a big fan of his organ playing, but it was still a great show. Bob’s band is hot. The place was packed. He came on at 8:35 and played until 10:35. George Thorogood played his “hits” from 7:30 to 8:10. I was pleased to see Lisa and meet her son. I set a world’s record for getting home from Hollywood after a show. I was in bed by 11:30.
tonygKeymasterThx for the setlist! Can’t wait. See you tonight. 😀
