Another great find!
tonygKeymasterAck. 🙁
tonygKeymasterThis is a huge bummer. The survival rate for this type of cancer isn’t too encouraging.
tonygKeymasterThx for the heads up on tickets. I’m down for Ventura.
There are a few cool places for drinks and eats before the show. The Watermark is across the street, Zoeys a few blocks away on East Santa Clara, Anacapa Brewing on East Main St. a block away.
See everyone somewhere.
tonygKeymasterFunnily enough, I am attending a day long meeting at the Queen Mary the morning after the show. I guess I could check in a day early and attend the show. I’ll have to run this up the flag pole and see who salutes it.
tonygKeymasterPut me down for Ventura. Maybe Long Beach.

tonygKeymasterYes. This is the life we live. 🙄
tonygKeymasterI’m going to see Jim Lauderdale the same night at McCabe’s Guitar Shop in Santa Monica.
tonygKeymasterSounds like a winner Tom. 😀
tonygKeymasterExcellent find, Tom. Good article. Great record. I hope he comes back here for a few shows.

Wait -there’s more -Lu will also be doing guest appearances on two other artists records -one of which I think is going to make a certain someone in this forum very happy.
What- she’s doing a guest appearance for David Byrne?
😆
tonygKeymasterExcellent video! Great find.
tonygKeymasterGood work Lafayette,
I went to the bar last night and saw Anne. She was fantastic. She wailed away on guitar like crazy. Scheduled to play last night was a band called 29 Mules. The drummer is a guy she has recorded with, Dave Raven. 29 Mules played an opening set until about 10:40. Anne took the stage during their break with Raven on drums, Dusty Wakeman on bass, and a guy named Kyle (it turns out his name is Carl) on keys. She played for almost an hour. I would say she played 3 or 4 songs from the new CD, 4 songs from Koala Motel, and the rest from other albums. Half the crowd came to see her, the other half had no idea who she was. Everyone was on their feet by the end of her set.
I talked to her before and after and she was very sweet as always. She was passing through town on her way to Palm Desert from San Fran and got her pals together for a jam. She must be exhausted since she just got back from Europe. A late night on a work night but I’m very glad I went.
