I’m filing a live report from the venue at 745 pm. I have exchanged pleasantries with Stoger, Cindy, Paul from Los Angeles, and Grumpy Mama. We are ready for some music.

Santa Cruz is quite a haul from the O.C. for those trying to get there for tonight’s show.
This Golden Stater welcomes 2012 and wishes it the very best.
I look forward to seeing some of the intrepid travelers 3 weeks from tonight in Ventura. If no other plans are made, I will be found at The Watermark, across the street, before the show.
I’ve seen the whole thing. Someone over there taped it off of the TV. I thing this is right around the Copenhagen show, later made famous by a song and video.
Great show by X last night. About an 80 minute show, which is plenty of time for about 50 punk tunes. There were 2 opening acts. After seeing John Doe either solo or doing his folkie thing for the past few years, it was funny seeing him bouncing around the stage playing bass guitar. If you like seeing 50 and 60 year olds bouncing up and down on the dance floor, this was the place for you.
While I lived in Hollywood in 1981, I never ventured out onto the Sunset Strip when X and Black Flag and their ilk were playing the clubs. It wasn’t a safe place to be if you were just a regular schmoe like me. So it was fun to finally see X, albeit in a faded glory.
Couch time for at least a week.
