TomOverbyParticipant
Yes 2/21 is the right date
TomOverbyParticipantIt won’t be May/June –we are hoping for July/Aug -basically we want to get over there asap but Europe requires a lot more lead time than the US.
TomOverbyParticipantIt also looks like we are adding two nights at McCabe’s also 3/7 & 8
TomOverbyParticipantHere is a sneak preview of the rest of the 2nd annual World Tour Of California shows in Feb. They will be officially announced next week so other than the Fillmore nothing is onside yet.
2/23 – The Troubadour -LA
2/25 – The Troubadour -LA
2/26 – The Glass House -Pomona
2/28 – The Regent -LA (great new refurbished theatre in downtown LA)
3/1 – The Coach House -San Juan Capistrano
3/3 – The Fillmore -San Francisco
3/4 – The Fillmore -San Francisco
3/6 – The Lobero -Santa BarbaraTomOverbyParticipantThe Fillmore dates will be the only ones to move. There may one or two more dates after the Fillmore shows but the west coast leg will end by 3/8. We apologize for any inconvenience moving those two shows caused.
TomOverbyParticipantSide Of The Road was a tour debut also.
TomOverbyParticipantWord got out quick –Lu did indeed tape NPR’s very popular Tiny Desk Concert series today doing 5 songs with a very stripped down band. It should run online very soon.
And Mr. G is now in possession of last night’s setlist.TomOverbyParticipantEmbedded
I don’t think imbedded is a word but if it was it would have a significantly different connotation. 😮
TomOverbyParticipantTremendous audience last night –the one thing Paul failed to mention was that Rockin’ In The Free World was the 2nd encore -really great night.
TomOverbyParticipantI’m guessing that they used the new version that they asked Lu to do.
TomOverbyParticipantHope to get hi-res downloads up ASAP. Possibly a web site only thing. Just have to get back to LA and catch a breath.
TomOverbyParticipantWe definitely did a special master for the vinyl. We also went thru three different test pressings to get the best/quietest version of each side of the record. We were very meticulous with the vinyl.
TomOverbyParticipantThe other thing here is that I had offers to do the Amex presales at a few of the other Nov. shows and I refused to do them. I remember the feedback I got from this forum the last time we did it -in NY i believe- and I vowed to never do it again. We want the real fans in the front row -not based on what charge card somebody owns.
In the case of the Grammy Museum I didn’t have the option -because it’s not a proper show and Lucinda doesn’t get a dime for doing it- the money goes benefit music related charities I believe.TomOverbyParticipantStog- Maybe it will change your perspective a little by letting you know that they were rushing like crazy to get it ready for Lu’s show – they emailed me the minute they passed the city inspection less than two weeks ago – that’s when Lu’s shoe became official and why it was confirmed very late. At one point it didn’t look like they were going to make it but they passionately wanted Lu’s show and got it done. They are actually closing again for 2-3 weeks to finish the rest of what they need to do for a real open. They did a cool thing getting open in time all the artist to play there this week – it was truly down to the wire so I don’t think I would pass judgement yet.
TomOverbyParticipantYes – instore at Rough Trade Records
