TomOverbyParticipant
No -there was no Long Way To The Top that or any other night in Europe
TomOverbyParticipantYes -it is 2 cd’s but we have purposely not made that an important point in the so called marketing. We just thought it was the best way to present -and listen to- this record. It just fit nicely on two separate discs -and two vinyls as they say now. To fit it on one cd would required some serious editing and leaving a song or two off and that wasn’t in the cards. It plays really great as two 40+ minute discs -the sequencing and everything changes. There were just a lot of musical moments at the beginnings and ending of songs that we felt needed to be heard. When you you can do things things the way you way you want to, regardless of economics -things like that can happen.
TomOverbyParticipantNY is the City Winery and Dallas is the Kessler
TomOverbyParticipantWill be officially announced next week.
TomOverbyParticipantYes -it has gone rather radio silent in here. I guess we need some more info, but a certain someone has been a little busy the past few weeks but hopefully we’ll see more coming soon -like maybe some show announcements ?
And yes -Happy Holidays to all our friends here in the forum.
TomOverbyParticipantStill doing the solo version
TomOverbyParticipantIt was an extremely difficult decision. Another potentially major project presented itself and needed to finished before we left for Australia. There was just no way to take three days in Seattle and get everything else done before leaving. The opportunity was too big to pass up. Sounds like it was a great show.
TomOverbyParticipantVery astute Mr. Stoger. Perhaps there may even be an earlier street date in Europe to coincide with the tour?
TomOverbyParticipantCrazy day yesterday -as Lu explained during the show. First the Uber driver didn’t show up so we grabbed a cab and he got us close to the venue but then just pulled at which point we had our own debate -about where the hell we were. SO we circled the block and Lu saw the marquee and we got out there -then found tour mgr Chris and walked around to the back entrance. A big deep breath was needed at that point. But all’s well that ends well.
The title is The Ghosts Of Highway 20
TomOverbyParticipantNo -I don’t believe at this point there will be any more shows added to this run. We do hope to be back in the summer.
TomOverbyParticipantOK –it is Jan. and it is fixed to show the right dates.
TomOverbyParticipantYes –Here they are:
1/19 -Dublin
1/20 -Glasgow
1/22 -London
1/23 -London
1/25 -Brussels
1/26 -Berlin
1/27 -AmsterdamTomOverbyParticipantI will get them sent to Mr. G asap -just running way behind -got a couple things going on.
TomOverbyParticipantLet me “decipher” the setlist. The first 6 songs were locked in starting with Emmy (Red Dirt Girl) and Lu (Sweet Old World) and then Rosanne. After that each of them had a list of songs that they were going to do -staying in the same order of Emmy, Lu and Rosanne but they were able to move the songs around to fit with a song that was played before them. For instance, after Lu played Ghosts Of Highway 20, Rosanne decided to play a song, Girl From The North Country, that wasn’t on her master list. After the first 6 songs, which they rehearsed with each other, they were trying to allow for some spontaneity, which did happen.
TomOverbyParticipantGood catch Mike
