Delving into the matter further, it’s just one track, “At Last”. It’s on “Etta James – The Chess Box”.
Her classic!

Well it won’t be in it’s entirety -but if you have some votes let it be known because I am going down to approve the songs for Itunes around 4 pm cst -if you have votes let me hear ’em.
Well, here’s my votes!
Drunken Angel
Pineola
Convince Me
Born To Be Loved
Essence
Real Live Bleeding Fingers And Broken Guitar StringsTom
P.S. And, if I HAD to narrow down my choices to two, it would be “Pineola” & “Convince Me”… 😉
tntracyParticipantThat’s cool, elbee! 8)
Maybe we’ll get to meet – I plan on being at both the Charlotte & the Knoxville shows…
Tom
tntracyParticipantNow, share with everyone what you learned tonight, West Words, and define “potch”… 😆
Tom
tntracyParticipantDamn, I sure hope this shows up in the iTunes Store in its entirety…

Also, for the truly obsessed, there are a few more tracks in a box set I have.
Which box set is that?

Nice setlist!
Can anyone comment on what kind of merch is being sold at the shows and what the prices are? Shirts, vinyl, posters…?? Thanks.
sam
Sam, I didn’t notice the merch table Wednesday night. I’ve seen vinyl, CD’s, and T-shirts for sell at other shows but unfortunately this time I wasn’t looking and didn’t notice. Wish I could help.
RDMYeah, I didn’t go by the merch table either, but I did see t-shirts hanging on the wall behind it from where I was standing for the show up by the stage. Lafayette, you bought a cool “Blessed” t-shirt IIRC – what else did they have?

(elbee, the Charlotte show is actually April 26th at the McGlohon Theater at Spirit Square)
True dat – Lu is in Knoxville, TN the 27th…

Well some of it is going to be available on ITunes in a couple days as Live At SXSW exclusive. I think I forgot to mention that.
Now that you say that, I think you mentioned it in Asheville to us, but I had forgotten it. Cool! 8)

tntracyParticipantWish I had SiriusXM. Lafayette told me earlier about their “free” 30-day trial offer, and I was tempted to sign up so I could hear Lu play tonight. But, they require a credit card to start the trial period, and I don’t trust them not to charge me even if I canceled in time after the trial period. I’m always wary when someone wants a credit card number for something that’s “free”…

Tnt your recount of the night’s events are so much more colorful than mine. No, I don’t remember her telling me to back up. Thanks for having my back.
Anytime, anytime… 😉 Besides, you’ve had my back before… 🙂

Etta James “Rocks the House”. She is completely off the chain. I’ve got a ton of blues albums and this one blows them all away. It’s also my absolute favorite album.
I LOVE Etta James – I’m going to go order this right now just based on your enthusiastic recommendation, eastside_eddie… 😉
Tom
UPDATE: Just ordered it on CD for $9.89 from Amazon. Then I went & checked the review at allmusic.com. Looks like you are definitely “on to something” about this one, eastside_eddie. They give it a full 5 our of 5 stars and say,
Simply one of the greatest live blues albums ever captured on tape. Cut in 1963 at the New Era Club in Nashville, the set finds Etta James in stellar shape as she forcefully delivers her own “Something’s Got a Hold on Me” and “Seven Day Fool” interspersed with a diet of sizzling covers (“What’d I Say,” “Sweet Little Angel,” “Money,” “Ooh Poo Pah Doo”). The CD incarnation adds three more great titles, including an impassioned reprise of her “All I Could Do Was Cry.” Guitarist David T. Walker is outstanding whenever he solos.
I can’t wait to get this – thanks for the recommendation!
tntracyParticipantI was a HUGE Zepp-head in high school (& I still love all their stuff). Although I wouldn’t call it the “best” live album, I really like Jimmy Page & The Black Crowes – Live At The Greek – although All Music (the site I linked to) gave it only 3 stars… 😉
