I think you should hide the total songs played… don’t want to scare off Blake with that giant number!Aw, I think he’s already coming to terms with the enormity of his “task”… 😉
I just added the SXSW Lost Highway 10th Anniversary show setlist…

tntracyParticipantOh, cool! Look what else ypou can do with any setlist.fm setlist!!! (I picked the last show I attended as an example):

One more tnt for Setlist FM or maybe it’s already there ?
March 4, 2011-Twas the night I met Friendly Forum members stoger and paul_from_losangeles.First night Massey Hall with Levon Helm.
Here ya go from paul and edited by moiIt’s been added – thanks!
There are probably other shows missing as I know HRT does not necessarily list every show Lu does. Any others from 2010 or 2011, folks? I will probably start on 2009 soon… 😉

I’ll add it if you know where we can find a set list. I looked here in the FF by searching on “Boxer”, but cic not find one…

tntracyParticipantI just got through entering all (I think) of the shows from what I called the “Summer ’10 (Pre-Blessed)” tour. I have been using the “past dates” list at Lu’s page at High Road Touring as a guide, selecting each show from the list, then searching this forum for the posted setlist. According to that HRT list, these “Summer ’10 (Pre-Blessed)” shows were the only ones of 2010 (remember, Lu was in the studio recording Blessed the first half plus of the year), with the exception of the two solo / acoustic shows in September in Fayetteville at George’s Majestic Lounge (which I also just entered), and the NYE show at the Viper Room (which was already entered by someone else at setlist.fm).
So – that gives us all the shows so far of what I’d call “The Blessed Era” (or, one could say all of the shows so far from 2010 & 2011), except for the two missing shows noted earlier (the second Blue Door show in OK & the Mountain Stage show in WV). That gives us a nice database on which to review the statistics. Some items of note (all of the stats below pertain to the 32 shows performed over the last 7 months; i.e., August 17, 2010 – March 21, 2011, which is all of the shows in 2010 & 2011 to date, with the exception of the two aforementioned missing setlists):
1. The two most played songs were “Honey Bee” & “Joy” (each song was played 31 times) – no huge surprise to those of us who have been going to a lot of shows and / or following set lists posted here.
2. The 3rd & 4th most played songs are also the most played songs from Blessed: “Born To Be Loved” (26 times) & “Blessed” & “Buttercup” tied for 4th (23 times each).
3. Over these 32 shows, Lu has played 86 different songs. I’d say that is “mixing it up” pretty well. 8)
4. The song played most often to open a show was “I Just Wanted To See You So Bad” (8 times), following by “Are You Alright?” (5 times).
5. The song played most often to close out the main set was “Honey Bee” (20 times), following by “Righteously” (4 times).
6. The song played most often to close the show (i.e., at the end of the last encore) was “Joy” (11 times), followed by “Blessed” (6 times).
(Note: to combine the 2010 statistics from setlist.fm with the 2011 statistics, I had to cut each set of stats from the Web site & paste them into MSExcel where I could then sort & subtotal on the song name. That is how I derived the song counts, etc. spanning both years. Unfortunately, setlist.fm does not have the capability to show statistics spanning multiple years or tours – just for everything in the database for Lu, or everything for one year, or everything for one tour).
Any other analysis or comments would be most welcome… 😉
Tom
tntracyParticipantOK, granted bob, I should not have said “ALL THE cool shows…”, but rather “SO MANY cool shows…” It was just my jealousy of tonyg’s getting to “pop over” from Simi Valley to see so many great shows in LA rearing it’s ugly, green head. It would be a helluva lot bigger of a “pop” for me to do the same from North Georgia… 😉

tntracyParticipantOK, I just finished a lot of “clean-up” on song titles in the existing set lists so that the statistics would be more accurate. For example, the titles are case sensitive, so set list entries like “Fruits Of My Labor” & “Fruits of My Labor” were considered different songs. Now that I am done, the statistics should be accurate – please check them out & see if I missed anything. Going forward, these types of simple mismatches should be pretty much eliminated, because when you enter a set list, it suggests corrections to your song titles based on letter case differences, other, similar song titles, etc. by doing comparisons to song titles on existing set lists for the same artist. (So, I don’t know how the other discrepancies got in there to begin with, but it does let you ignore the suggestions, so maybe some people did that for some reason).
In fact, I think I am going to spend some time today & tonight entering in set lists from 2010 that are posted here… 😐

tntracy: There’s a thread named “Minneapolis Pt 3”, posted by Tom Overby on Feb. 25, which details the setlist for Minneapolis night 3.
Also, in the statistics view: one show apparently includes the sequence numbers as part of the title, so those songs are counted separately with a count of 1–if the sequence numbers were removed, those songs should increment their counts at the proper names.
Thanks Paul, I missed that third night Minneapolis thread (obviously). I’ve added it now. I also made the corrections to remove the embedded numbering in the song titles from that one set list. I made a few other corrections to misspelled, etc. song titles on other set lists while I was there. I saw a few others I need to fix, but will do that later today as I have to run to an appointment this morning…

OK, I got every show of the Blessed tour (so far) entered, with the exception of these three shows:
Dakota Jazz Club, Minneapolis, MN (3rd night), Feb. 22
Mountain Stage, Charleston, WV, Feb. 27
The Blue Door, Oklahoma City, OK (2nd night), Mar. 22
I can’t find anything on the Internet regarding the setlists for these three shows. If anyone else can, please let me know!

Dakota Jazz Club, Minneapolis, MN (3rd night), Feb. 22
Mountain Stage, Charleston, WV, Feb. 27
The Blue Door, Oklahoma City, OK (2nd night), Mar. 22The first two shows were not attended by anyone in the forum, nor was a link posted to an article or blog entry containing a set list. The third show was attended by someone in the forum, but the set list posted was incomplete and / or not in order, so I didn’t think it was appropriate to post it on setlist.fm. I’ll look around the Internet tomorrow for these.
After posting the set lists, I looked some more at the statistics. They are really cool – here are some for all the shows so far from 2011 (not including the three listed above, and including the Valentine’s Day show in LA at Bardot):
Here is a list of all songs played ranked by frequency
And, also VERY cool – if you set up an account (it’s easy – just give them your e-mail address & select a user name & password), not only can you add setlists yourself, but you can go through all the posted setlists, even those that someone else entered, and click an “I was there” link for any & all shows you attended. Then, when you go look at the statistics for your personal account, it will give you a list of all the concerts you attended, and a ranked list of all the songs you heard. How freakin’ awesome is THAT? 8)

Thanks Lafayette and TnT, this is very cool. How do the videos get attached to the songs on the set lists?
I have verified that they are from YouTube. My guess is that a search there is automatically done based on the artist name & song title. If more than one is found, I further assume the most recent one is selected for the link…
I am working back through the Blessed tour – I plan on finishing it tonight… 😉
Tom
tntracyParticipantI’m “on the job”, Lafayette! 😆
And, I hereby nominate you for “The Find of The Year” for the Friendly Forum for 2011. This will be a cool resource going forward – one consolidated database of Lu’s setlists with statistics, links to video, etc. How freakin’ cool is THAT! 8)
