tntracyParticipantHey, what do I know? I’m no expert either – far from it. Maybe it is something that could be easily implemented. My comments were just my opinion, and we all know about those… 😉 I do think it is a good idea, and that it would be fun.
Tom
tntracyParticipantThanks for the tour “heads up”, tonyg. It prompted me to check his tour schedule (honestly expecting it to be out West only) to discover he is playing at my favorite cheeseburger bar & grill, The Earl, in East Atlanta in July. I just ordered tickets… 😉
Tom
tntracyParticipantParkerCA, all joking aside, 😀 I think that is a great idea. BUT, and this is a big “but”, the organization & coordination of that kind of ongoing promotion would take a significant amount of time & money. And, far be it from me to speak for TO here, but I would imagine that that is time & money “Lu. Inc.” doesn’t have at this point what with all the touring, etc. going on. I do know for a fact that they are trying in every way they can to cut expenses to in turn keep ticket prices as low as possible for the fans. One large case in point of this effort is the fact that they have ALL crowded onto one tour bus (Lu & TO included) this leg of the tour to save on expenses (i.e., $$$-GAS-$$$).
From my (granted, limited) perspective, I think that at this point it is best to leave the “street team” effort at the Lost Highway level, as they already have the infrastructure in place to handle it… 😉

tntracy – you gonna be there? send pm if so – let’s meetup
I’d love to GM, but unfortunately I am not going to be there…
Some other time though!
Tom
tntracyParticipantParkerCA, stoger & I also dodged tornado warnings all afternoon & evening to see Lu at the Alabama Theater in Birmingham in February 2008. After show, it poured down rain to beat the band.
Also, there was the afore-mentioned hailstorm in Knoxville last month, the same night as the destructive tornadoes in Alabama & NW Georgia / SE Tennessee. When touring the South & Midwest in the Spring & Summer, stormy nights are bound to happen. Perhaps it would be appropos for Lu & the band to work up a cover of Billie Holiday’s “Stormy Weather” for future “dark & stormy” nights… 😉

If there is a concert and Stoger isn’t there, does it make a sound?
If this were Facebook, I would be definitely “liking” this comment. Good one, tonyg… 😆

My NUMBER ONE pet peeve at concerts. Rude, rude, RUDE to others who are there to listen AND to the performers! 👿 Some folks just plain suck…
Tom
tntracyParticipantJust noticed LWJ already posted a link to the HoustonPress article. Mea culpa… 😳
