Whatever works man! I remember starting my first job out of college, and everyone carried a binder around with all their important information. We used to refer to our binders as our “brains”. As in, “hey you left your brain over there”. Were we less than professional? No. Did we get the job done, yes. Did we worry about it? Absolutely not. Whatever it takes to get the job done.

Did I notice Lucinda using her cheat sheet? Only when she specifically refered to it at the begining of the show. Why do why talk about this useless stuff?

No shit, stevarino. I mean, in the long run, what difference does it make? Lu uses lyric sheets. So what?!?! Does it effect the quality of the show? No, IMHO. So, and forgive me for saying this, but get over it!

Thanks for the reply. I appreciate all you do; like the audio webcast on the 23rd of October.

Indeed. Having someone like IJ who is responsive to fan questions, etc. is a huge plus to this forum.

WOO HOO!!! WE’RE COMING TO NASHVILLE, BABY!!!!

After seeing last night that the show was not sold out in the other “Seating” thread, I just couldn’t stand it! So, I talked to Sarah, we really can’t afford it, but we have hotel points & that’ll help, so we decided to come. Just ordered my tickets & I’m about to leave to take the dogs to boarding, then we hit the road!!!

Stoger, we’ll be looking for you in the bar at the Sheraton. We are either staying at a Courtyard or at a Homewood Suites. I’m 6′, 250, glasses and gray hair. Sarah is the good-looking one… 😉

    I’m PUMPED!

Tom – You’re story is hilarious-and as you will see, all too familiar, which makes it even more funny. It’s raining in Nashville, and I’m just killing time on the bus, so I thought I’d share our version:

Ha! Been there, done that! Thanks for sharing your & Lu’s story, Tom. Sarah & I got a kick out it (although Sarah didn’t think my experience was *that* funny when I confessed to her last night. 😳 So, as a precautionary measure -my memory is not what it used to be! – I printed out a little sign on my Mac & posted it inside the entertainment center to “remind” me to check the “B” speakers when I crank the tunes in the future…)

Someone in the UK posted over in the lucindawilliams Yahoo group that “I Live My Life” is also available at Play.com (here is a link). But, we here in the States can’t purchase a copy (unless you have a credit card w/ a European billing address)… 👿

Inside Job – will this track eventually be available here in the U.S.? I’m dying for a copy…

I’m not sure, but for some reason I have the impression it was going to be available here at lucindawilliams.com in the store…

IIRC, there was a link on this website that said when you pre-order, there would be a bonustrack available. Anyone knows where I can find the info on how to do that?

    thanks

    – Koen.

My understanding is Amazon will be sending pre-orderers (is that a word?) an e-mail w/ the link to download the bonus track.

haha. You might drum up some more album sales for lucinda.

Just hope and pray that your neighbors don’t blast you in return, especially if they are jonas brothers fans…. 😆

No doubt. My only saving grace may be that I played it mid-afternoon when most of my neighbors were probably at work…

Except for the retired couple right next door. I’ll think I’ll knock on their door tomorrow & apologize. 😉

You know, it’s kind of funny, but you know who I think of now that I’ve listened to “Rarity” a few times?

    Lucinda Williams.

Now, I know she in no way meant this song to be about herself, nor would she ever claim so – she is much too humble and modest. But, think about it. Who else other than Lu has not had the acclaim or the recognition from the public at large that she so rightly deserves? I think we all agree that Lu has the talent, the voice, the music and the poetry far above and beyond the commercial success she has attained to date. Granted, that may arguably be a blessing in disguise for a number of reasons, but nonetheless, I believe it is true.

Lu, “you deserve so much more.”

Now, I will definitely check out Mia Doi Todd – because I have that much respect for and faith in Lucinda’s opinion on music & art. But, I feel strongly that Lu is definitely in the same category of under-appreciated artists.

I have a funny story about my first listen of “Little Honey”. As I posted before, I got my copy this afternoon when I got home from school (about 3:00 PM), and played it through start to finish while sitting on my sofa in the prime listening position for my home stereo system. Cranked up, of course… 😈

Well, I live in a house in a subdivision w/ 1/2 – 3/4 acre lots. We have a screened-in porch on the back, and then a big deck. On the screened-in porch, up in the corners of the ceiling on each side, I have installed two Polk Atrium outdoor speakers so we can enjoy music out on the deck. These are my “B” speakers from my receiver inside (it was easy to wire, given the layout of our house – down through the floor in the great room, across the joists in the basement, then outside & back up through the floor of the porch). I think you see where this is going… 🙂 😆

Anyway, I listened to the whole album this afternoon like I said, then went to the grocery store to get something for dinner. When I got home, I started playing the CD again for another listen. Only *then* did I notice I had *both* the inside speakers (the “A” speakers) as well as the outside ones turned on. OOPS! The ones outside get really loud as they are more efficient that the towers inside, so I had literally CRANKED Little Honey this afternoon to the whole neighborhood! 😳 😳 😳

We haven’t had any complaints, so I guess they liked it as much as I did!! 😀
