GREAT photos – thanks for posting the link.
Lu looks very happy on stage that night, doesn’t she?

I think many Dylan fans will have issues with JM being on the ticket (if indeed it comes to fruition.)
They’ll get over it…

Finally, with a two week lull in Lu’s tour until Australia, Lefty can now focus on Erika W. of the HB’s and not the merchandise gal.
Ha! 😆

For the love of God tell me that you were not the guy near the front yelling/howling call-and-response during Tears of Joy.
Nope. Definitely does NOT sound like stoger! 😆

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Oh man, I am playing my iTunes library streamed wirelessly to my home stereo, and I just heard Bobbie Gentry “Ode To Billie Joe”, and next up was “Oh! Sweet Nothin'” by Velvet Underground. I wish I was there, dude, I wish I was there…
(Hence the previous Mott The Hoople quote as well…)

tntracyParticipantLove ya long time, Lefty – Thanks.
Glad to see your request paid off… 😉
Tom
tntracyParticipantThanks for the setlist & report again, Tim. I’m glad to hear that the new incarnation of B6 is apparently starting to “gel” for you…

Okay, Tom, I do see a trend here with you (as you proclaimed over dinner in Atlanta).
A sucker for female singer-songwriters ~ check
Collect posters ~ check
Guilty as charged!

If I mention you, Tim, Bob & TNT, do I get a discount on top of the discount?!
I’m afraid if you mention my name at the merch table, Lefty, the only thing you’ll get is a questioning look coupled w/ a confused, “Who?”… 😳

Great reports boys. Super song list too.
Indeed – thank you. I’m particularly jealous of “Blue”. I was hoping to hear that in Atlanta but, alas, it did not happen. There is a story behind it all, but I’ll save that for another time…

tntracyParticipantJust got back from the sweetest little venue in Atlanta (Decatur, actually, a very-close-in Atlanta suburb) – Eddie’s Attic – where we enjoyed a great evening with Kathleen Edwards. A very talented singer-songwriter from Memphis, Clare Burson, opened, and then Ms. Edwards & her husband, Colin Cripps, fresh off of the Cayamo Cruise, took the stage & played a great set. Clare joined in on violin for one song – otherwise, it was just Kathleen & Colin on guitars, with Colin throwing in some electric mandolin on a few numbers. We had a reserved table right up front, so we had a great view in a very small venue (capacity is 185 people). Afterward, Kathleen was nice enough to sign a couple of posters for me – one an awesome, huge tour poster that cost only $5 at the merch table. Picked up a signed Clare Burson CD as well.
A great night with a great lady… 😀

Wishful thinking, no doubt, LWj, but I think we’re in for an excellent show this Sat. I believe Fuji will be there…who else is coming to the Flower City?
I fancied a trip, but the lovely wife, ever the frugal one, shot my wishful thinking down in flames… 😥

tntracyParticipantAnd, BTW, as far as which I like better – I don’t really prefer one or the other overall. I like them both very much for different reasons. The reviewer Lafayette quoted is right I think – the GM version does have “a slightly more stripped down and country sound”. More “Cajun-y” too (if that is a word!) – more accordian in some of the tracks, for example. To me, the GM version kind of sounds more like Lu’s earlier work (like the S/T album, and SOW), while the official released version hearkens more of things to come.
Having said all that, I guess if I was pressed, I would probably have to admit that the official released version was more likely to win the Grammy that it did than if the original version had been released. Stoger made this point when we were talking while driving back to my house after the Atlanta show, and I would have to agree…
