And here’s a picture of the Blue Note in Columbia I got from their Web site. Looks perfect – small club, with standing right up front…

TomtntracyParticipantWow – what an encore of all covers.
Thanks for the link & setlist, ali!

With the addition of the MO show on June 15, I think Chicago, if it happens, will be squeezed in between WI and KY.
Can’t wait to see what’s added next.
Maybe – maybe not. Louisville –> Columbia is about a 6 hour drive, and Columbia –> Chicago is about 6 1/2 hours. Very doable, and not out of the way. Plus, if the Chicago shows are indeed “special” shows, it might make sense that they are at the end of the tour.
I know I’m speculating like crazy, but my fantasy road trip now is Louisville –> Columbia –> Chicago for a total of 4 shows. What a great way to celebrate (one month late) my 50th birthday!!!
Tom
tntracyParticipantHigh Road Touring has just added a new show: Monday, June 15th, The Blue Note, Columbia, MO. (Beatcha, Tim!! 😉 )
Hmmm. Chicago next?
Tom
tntracyParticipantThanks for the show report, slide. Setlist, anyone?

Lucinda Williams will be playing the Brown Theatre in Louisville, KY on June 14.
❗ ❗ ❗ ❗ ❗
Sure enough, Tim – High Road Touring must have just added that show since I last checked yesterday or the day before. Thanks!!!
Woo hoo!!! This suggests to me that the ever-elusive & mythological Chicago shows, if they do happen, will follow Bonnaroo – and follow this new Louisville show as well. And that means, a new possible trip for me – Atlanta –> Louisville –> Chicago w/ 3 shows!
Thanks, Tim! After yesterday’s disappointing news (see my post above), you have made me a happy man once again!
Tom
tntracyParticipantWell Lafayette & stevarino, looks like Covington is now definitely out for us, I am sorry to say. During my current state of unemployment, I have returned to school & our Spring quarter just started yesterday. Turns out the final exam for one of my classes is June 11th at 1:00 PM, and there is no way, short of medical emergency, to change that schedule… 😥
Now I am really hoping that the Chicago shows, if they do happen, are after Bonnaroo…

Excellent seats are still available for the July 30 show in Manchester, England, at

The ticketing engine allows you to select your own seat.
Be aware the E-Mail receipt system is not working properly. You may need to call the box office to obtain your confirmation code. From the USA, the calling digits are:

Cheers–Looks like someone is “going across the pond” again to catch some shows. Will you have any company, paul_from_la, like say, oh, I don’t know, stoger? 😆 😆 😆

(Got to imagine that AC/DC cover is going to stay in the set down there)
Plus, inquiring minds want to know if Lu substituted “It’s a long way to the shop if you want a sausage roll” when singing it like one Aussie here recommended when the tour was announced… 😆

Tom, I suppose you will be deciding on Covington before Friday?
Unless Tom posts up the info about the Chicago shows before then, I’ll have to go ahead & buy two tickets regardless and, if Chicago turns out not to be right before Covington, I’ll have to sell them here or on eBay. On the other hand, if the Chicago shows do not happen at all, we’ll still have our Covington tickets & will just go to that show instead.
I’m just too paranoid to wait after they go on sale to see when (or even if) the Chicago shows are scheduled – I’m afraid it’ll sell out, I’ll end up wanting to go, & I won’t have tickets (especially since the venue is so small).

There’s 3 weeks between Bonnaroo and Europe; plenty of time for Chicago, and a return home to California
True enough – although, in that case it would be impossible for us to go to both the Chicago shows & Covington in the same trip – so I am hoping for the other scenario. If Chicago does come after Bonnaroo, then we would almost definitely have to go to Chicago only, forgoing a separate trip to Covington.

Actually, the Madison Theater website is showing April 3, this Friday, with “Club Seating; Standing only on the main floor”.
Oh, OK – thanks for the update, Paul. I suppose in light of the above schedule uncertainties, I will probably have to go ahead and buy tickets to Covington and then, if & when Chicago turns out to be after Bonnaroo, sell them here or on eBay…

Sounds like a certain Georgian has been map-questing: thanks for the precision of these drive times, and we all know “English” and his stable of mounts can get them there in good time. Here’s hoping your personal atlas is at stake on some of these routes, Tom, and we’ll see you at a few.
Google Maps actually, stoger, but six of one, half a dozen of the other.
Yes, I am anxious to attend those 2 “special” Chicago shows Tom mentioned as a possibility. Assuming they come to fruition, our plan is to drive to Chicago to attend them both, then pick up the Covington show on the way back home. So, hopefully, all will work out & English & Co. will actually be driving the hypothetical itinerary I mapped out above. 😉

That would be very tuff schedule as she is in Iowa the night before Wisconsin, then drop down to Chi town and on to Cincy? Oh, and let’s not forget, on to Bonnaroo, too.
Yes, tough in the sense that that would be 5 shows over 5 nights (assuming 2 in Chicago), but it still works geographically – Council Bluffs, IA to Green Bay, WI is 9 1/2 hour drive, Green Bay to Chicago is only 3 1/2 hours, and Chicago to Covington, KY is about 5 hours.
Even though the WI show is not listed here at lucindawilliams.com, High Road Touring is listing it. No Chicago shows as of yet, however…
Tom
tntracyParticipantI just got a pollstar.com notification e-mail proclaiming Lu playing Green Bay, WI (the venue listed is Oneida Bingo & Casino) on Sunday, June 7th.
That tightens up a bit the free dates prior to Covington for the “two special shows” in Chicago that Tom said were a possibility. Yet and still, the 8th & 9th are still open… (*crosses fingers & toes*)
