I’m not sure what a “sticky” is, Lafayette, but if it makes an Inside Job blog more accessible to me/us, go for it.
It is a thread that always appears (or “sticks”) at the top of the thread list of the forum it is in, regardless of whether it has a recent post in it or not.
Good idea, Lafayette – I’m all for it. And thanks for the “Inside Info”, “Inside Job”… 😉

Oh yeah, I just thought of another one… 😉
A version of “Hard Time Killing Floor Blues” (written by Nehemiah “Skip” James) on the Wim Wenders documentary film A Soul Of A Man (an awesome soundtrack, BTW, if you love the blues). It was a documentary, as opposed to a feature film, however.
And these I culled from her “Credits” list at allmusic.com:
Film soundtracks: “One Night Stand” from Tumbleweeds; “Can’t Let Go” from Jack Frost; “Still I Long For Your Kiss” from The Horse Whisperer; & “The Night’s Too Long” from Lone Star.
Television series soundtracks: “Are You Alright?” from House, M.D. & “Right In Time” from The L Word.

tntracyParticipantWell, two that immediately come to mind – she recorded a cover of Glen Campbell’s hit “Gentle On My Mind” (written by John Hartford) that plays while the credits roll on the movie Talledega Nights. And, on the NBC television series Crossing Jordan, she recorded a version of “Hang Down Your Head” (written by Kathleen Brennan & Tom Waits). The latter is available on a 2003 Crossing Jordan soundtrack CD (as well as a bonus track on the Australian release of World Without Tears), while the former has never been commercially released.
I’m sure there are others…

tntracyParticipantDisappointing news about Chicago, Tom (would have tied in nicely after Louisville & Columbia, MO), but understandable given your reasoning. Thanks for the update.
Can you verify if the Columbia, MO show will be the last of the tour prior to y’all departing for Europe? I am trying to decide if we will still travel to that show & the Louisville show…
Thanks,
Tom
P.S. All the ideas sound exciting I’d attend any / all if possible. Don’t forget Atlanta & how great the crowd was in the Tabernacle when it comes to scheduling special, multi-night stands! 😉

If you visit http://www.ticketmaster.co.uk
and search for Lucinda Williams, you can find a Hamburg show on July 7, and a Berlin show on July 8 (note the dd/mm/yy format). The Berlin link specifies Lucinda as the opening act:Lucinda Williams on stage: 18:00 Uhr
Lambchop on stage: 19:30 Uhr
Calexico on stage: 21:00 Uhr
Curfew: 22:00 UhrI’m still waiting for London…
Wow – now if one / both of you go all the way to Germany to see a short Lu set, then you are truly the greatest fans of all time…
Tom
tntracyParticipantNice report, Ali – thanks!
Tom
tntracyParticipantLooks like a good show – thanks for posting…
Tom
tntracyParticipantOK, Tom – thanks for clearing that up for us. Strange those dates (even past shows like the U.S. tour prior to the current Australia tour) are listed there – my guess is that the Web site was set up to pull directly from High Road Touring’s database automatically and it hasn’t been changed since he stopped playing with Lu.
Tom
tntracyParticipantHmmmm. VERY interesting. Well, if so, and it sure seems so, I’m happy to hear he is back!

I have a question to veteran fans, does she usually perform from a lyric sheet?
yes
its normal for her and i dont mind it at all
She has likened her use of lyric sheets before in an interview to Linus’ (from the comic strip Peanuts) security blanket. She usually doesn’t need them per se, but their being there makes her more at ease. And I, too, do not mind them at all.

tntracyParticipant❗ Update: If the 2 Chicago shows are going to occur, it’s definitely going to be after Bonnaroo, and therefore after the Columbia, MO show on June 15th. High Road Touring just “plugged” the 2-day hole between Oneida, WI on the 7th & Covington, KY on the 10th by adding a new show in Indianapolis, IN at The Vogue on Tuesday June 9th…
So, here’s the tour as it stands now, according to High Road:
Thu May 28 ’09 Anaheim, CA House of Blues Anaheim
Fri May 29 ’09 Tucson, AZ Rialto Theatre
Sat May 30 ’09 Mesa, AZ Mesa Arts Center
Mon Jun 1 ’09 Santa Fe, NM Paolo Soleri Amphitheatre
Wed Jun 3 ’09 Denver, CO Denver Botanic Gardens
Thu Jun 4 ’09 Boulder, CO Chatauqua Auditorium
Sat Jun 6 ’09 Council Bluffs, IA Whiskey Roadhouse
Sun Jun 7 ’09 Oneida, WI Oneida Bingo & Casino
Tue Jun 9 ’09 Indianapolis, IN The Vogue

tntracyParticipantSome may be interested in this post of mine in the other thread about Mr. Jarvis in the “Singers & Songwriters” forum…
Tom
tntracyParticipantFor those interested, check out this 2008 CD by G. DaPonte I was listening to last night. Both Duane Jarvis and Doug Pettibone play on it. In fact, according to allmusic.com’s credits page on Duane, it is one of the last 4 albums on which he played & sang.
(More info on G. DaPonte, as well as a complete list of contributors on the CD & full length songs samples, can be found here. Notice Lu is one of his top MySpace friends.)
