Thanks again, David! I guess you could sell me about anything today – I just ordered tickets to Tim’s show in Atlanta. It’s at one of my favorite little (tiny, in fact) music venues – The Earl. It is a funky, “alternative” bar w/ a music room in the back in the Village of East Atlanta, a cool little neighborhood east of downtown. And, they make one helluva burger! To top it off, Tim’s show is on the eve of my 50th birthday, so I just have to go!

Just ordered a copy! Thanks for the heads up & the video link. I love that poster on the wall behind Lu…

I enjoyed seeing Lucinda so much in Rochester that I’m taking my mom to Phoenix for a long weekend to see her again! Any ticket purchase suggestions?

You’re in luck – the Mesa Arts Center is selling tickets directly instead of letting the evil TicketMaster sell them, so the fees are sure to be lower. Here is a link.

I wasn’t going to post a reply for fear of raining on Lafayette’s Twittering, stoger, but now that you have voiced thoughts uncannily similar to my own, I will “pile on” if you will. I, too, have a strongly held bias against “social networking” sites (despite being rather technical & Internet savvy if I do say so myself). And not just Twitter, but the entire lot of them – MySpace, Facebook, etc.

Hmmm. I wonder what is behind this sharing of the minds? Could it be we are both just old curmudgeons of the Internet, drawing our virtual shades & locking our virtual doors, refusing to socialize with our Internet neighbors? 😆

Well, regardless of the actual format of the show, one can rest assured “Jailhouse Tears” will be played!

Yeah, who knows at this point – it may be just Lu making a scheduled guest appearance for some songs during an Elvis Costello headlining show. I checked his fan club site – no mention of this show. Pollstar.com has no mention of it either, but it does fit in nicely, sandwiched between two shows they do have listed: Mon 08/17/09, Saratoga, CA, The Mountain Winery & Wed, 08/19/09, Livermore, CA, The Concerts At Wente Vineyards.

    “75% Special Guest” ❓

Yeah, not sure exactly what that means – it is directly from High Road Touring’s show list. For most of Lu’s shows in the list, it says “100% Headliner” in this column, so I don’t know if, for this show, it means Lu is not the headliner, or if she is not playing the full headlining set, or what…

That last song’s a good, somewhat obscure one, Drunken Angel. I knew of her singing “Room To Room” and “Black To Black” with Terry Allen on his album Human Remains, but I was not aware of that one. I’d sure like to get a copy of it myself. In case you haven’t seen it (or for anyone else interested), I found this Terry Allen interview where he talks about getting Lu to sing “Bloodlines” for The Baby Dance.

Also, here’s a good list of Lu’s songs / singing in movie & TV soundtracks at imdb.com…

Got it! I found a site listing some “generic” passwords to try for any “Ticketdeals Network” pre-sale, and one of them worked. For those interested, use “TMDEAL” for the Ticketdeals Network password (not the “Internet Presale” password).

We are set ticket-wise! Louisville, KY, Columbia, MO & Kansas City, MO, here we come!

It’s like any genre – you have to look a bit further than the fluff at the top, and also not worry about labels. I always thought the Lu comment about being “too rock for country, and too country for rock” a great message about how f**ked up the music industry is.

    Well said!
