Thanks again for the always informative report, stoger. We’ll miss your musings for the Wisconsin show – hopefully someone from the forum will be attending to attempt to fill your shoes…

I was totally unfamiliar with Lucinda prior to her being on the Bonnaroo lineup. After listening to a few songs I was hooked instantly.
Welcome to our little cult… 😈

A little birdie told me recently that it is due out later this year (if all goes to plan)… 😉

C’mon, TN Tracy, a man can’t be conscious night and day.
All in good fun, my friend, all in good fun.
Another night, another show, another good report & a different yet again set list. And another day closer to Louisville, Columbia & KC. One week + one day until we are off!

Fifty feet from the stage, where I spent most of the show, the hum of conversation rose to nearly the level of the music coming from the stage. Lame.
I have another word to describe such behavior. RUDE! (Not that many people give a flip these days about whether or not they are being rude). Rude to the audience members who are trying to lose themselves in the music, and rude to the performers. It is my biggest pet peeve, and it will absolutely ruin a show for me.
There is an outdoor venue here in Atlanta, Chastain Park Amphitheater, that has a summer concert series that allows you to bring in coolers, alcohol, even glass containers (one show there several years ago, I saw a man drop a glass plate full of shrimp cocktail on the concrete steps as he was carrying it to his table up front). Sounds nice, huh? Well, between the fact it is nestled in a residential area & therefore has a low decibel limit, and that most of the people attending shows are there “to see and be seen” and chit-chat & visit with other attendees, I no longer go to shows there. It is ridiculous and a farce.

tntracyParticipantHa!! Only one view so far – I am the first one to lay eyes on your Denver setlist / report, stoger!!
Nice setlist – “Over Time”, “People Talkin'”, “Pineola” – she keeps mixing them up – good news for those of you (that’s you, stoger) going to every show this tour!
And nice tie-in to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens show (although some of it – lights, fights – need to be forgotten). I feel like I was there (again).

No Imus sightings, though it sounds like his musical taste is superior to his basketball joke taste. Would we have gotten “Are You Alright” if he had been there, wonder?
Or “Mamas, Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Cowboys” from the recent Imus Ranch benefit CD. Come to think of it, has she ever performed this live to anyone’s knowledge?
Tom
tntracyParticipantGreat report, stoger. Felt like I was there. Sorry you had to put up with a stereotypical concert jerk, but we’ve all been there (my most recent was in B’ham if you recall).
Tom
tntracyParticipantExcellent report, as always, stoger – many thanks. “Not cookie cutter” indeed = “Which Will”, “Wrap My Head Around That”, “Envy The Wind” – Lu always has a surprise or two, doesn’t she?
Tom
tntracyParticipantYes, thank you for the show reports & setlist. And, speaking of the latter, it looks like a nice, eclectic mix yet again with a couple of surprises thrown in. “Little Angel, Little Brother” and “Concrete & Barbed Wire” are two songs Lu doesn’t play that often. And, two of my favorites, “Blue” & “Side of the Road”. Nice.
Keep ’em coming, stoger, and Sarah & I will see you in Louisville in 2 weeks!

I really hope that the article is mistaken about NY/LA being the venues for another set of album shows. Somewhere in the Midwest (I’m very partial to Chicago as it’s only a 3-hour drive away 🙂 ) would be a lot more logical and better for the many fans who missed out on the first set for geographic reasons.
Hey, Chicago is an 11 1/2 hour drive for me, but I’d do it in a heartbeat for 30th anniversary / album shows. LA, on the other hand, would be out of the question, and NYC would be a lot less likely for me due to financial reasons (not to mention I’d much rather visit Chicago than NYC).

which wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world
Harumph! I respectfully disagree. Both destinations are uber-expensive to travel to & stay in. Why the LA/NY centrism again? Sure, selfishly speaking, I’d like Atlanta best, but even Chicago and / or New Orleans would be much better locales in my book – within driving distance for a different set of fans than the “album shows” were, and better places to visit overall IMHO (sorry, but I am no fan of NYC & LA is just too far away).
Tom
tntracyParticipantYes, please post a link once you have one, Lafayette…
Tom
tntracyParticipantHigh Road Touring is not yet listing this appearance – once they do, it will probably have the specific day…
