I don’t know – an album of Delta Blues covers would be a wonderful thing, IMHO. Sort of a Ramblin’ reprise. Nobody can belt out the Blues like our gal Lu… 😉

We are happy to announce that Tom Overby and Hello Cleveland Management have joined Eilen’s team! Eilen and the band are looking forward to having Tom in our corner. Tom currently manages (and is married to) Grammy award winning artist Lucinda Williams. His knowledge and experience as a former executive at Universal Music Group/Fontana Distribution and more recently as Lucinda Williams’ manager will be welcome assets in the EJ camp. Congratulations to all involved! Here’s to perhaps a better chance to see Lu & Eilen on the same bill in the future, something about which many off us have dreamed! 😉

Lu is known for “mixing it up” from night to night, so a set list will only provide some clues. Also, this tour, which just kicked off last night, consists of just Lu & Doug Pettibone, so past set lists with a full band would be of little help…

I can actually sympathize with “Ms. Shut the Fuck Up” after having been at way too many shows where people rudely talked with loud voices during the performance…

Just got home from seeing JTE perform (again) – this time at my new favorite venue – The Melting Point in Athens, GA. He played all by his lonesome on acoustic and was, as usual, supremely entertaining. Pictured below is the gig poster from the show – I just love it, and fully inteded to take one down from one of the several bulletin boards around the venue but, before I realized it, they were all taken by someone else, and there were none for sale at the merch table… 😐
One of my favorite quotes from the show came when he was introducing a song & explaining that, when he set out to make his first record, he wanted to be a “country singer”. However, he went on, he soon changed his mind after he quickly tired of explaining to people “the difference between Hank Williams and Toby-fuckin’-Keith.” Classic… 😆
