TimParticipant
Taylor, that was just what I meant. Thanks for the great post. We may never see another show like it.
TimParticipantThank you all for saving me 100 bucks, I appreciate it. I’m no longer interested now. If they’re going to use the excuse that they had to cut some time, you don’t do it by deleting songs! You delete all the ridiculous false starts.
TimParticipantI think Emmylou’s first three albums were all great. “Pieces Of The Sky”, “Elite Hotel” and “Luxury Liner”. Gram Parsons had just died and she then made her first solo album. She used Gram’s band, and some of them used to be in Elvis’ band. (James Burton, Ron Tutt, Glen D. Hardin, etc.) Well crafted songs.
TimParticipantI was lucky enough to meet him in Birmingham and chat with him for 40 minutes or so. Tom from this board was also there. Charlie had us laughing off & on for most of that time! Once in a lifetime experience.
TimParticipantThanks, for getting back, jackstraw. I’m no longer interested in getting the NY CD’s. If they’re going to pick and choose which songs get on it, I’m not going to pay that kind of price. I’m happy with the way the LA CD’s were done.
TimParticipantJackstraw, do you mean that the CD did not include “People Talking”? I know the LA CD back cover omitted the last three songs (American Dream, World Without Tears & Words Fell), but they were included on the CD. I hope they’re not going to leave certain songs off the NYC CD’s. Every song she did in LA was included on the CD’s. I’m rethinking ordering the NYC CD’s if this is the case. Please let me know.
TimParticipantThe filming that was done in LA was of the complete concerts, not just the album portions. Also they were filming the people standing in line outside the theatre, and some one told me there was a camera backstage from time to time.
TimParticipantI believe Lucinda has also mentioned that Son Volt will be there the night they do “Essence”, which should be Sunday.
TimParticipantIt was a great show. No, she did not do “Fancy Funeral”.
TimParticipantThanks for the review, Ray. Just soak these next few nights up! Enjoy.
TimParticipantDoes anyone who was at the show remember how “Masters Of War” sounded? I thought it was haunting. Lucinda’s voice was resounding thru the theatre, and Doug was playing mournful, haunting notes on his pedal steel. It almost seemed unreal.
TimParticipantThank you, Lefty, for posting the words to “Masters Of War”. The song is still very relevent for what’s going on today.
TimParticipantSM, I wouldn’t take a chance with his website. It seems to have been lapsed for at least a few months. There have been copies available at the shows I’ve attended this year. I would try and contact the record company at this email address to find out: newmail@poltz.com
TimParticipantThe Los Angeles live CD’s contain the first set of each night. This was the particular album that was played that night in its entirety. (In chronological order).
TimParticipantGreat pics, Tom! Thank you for sharing.
