thejolo1980Participant
dont forget “kiss like your kiss”. i remember hearing somewhere that it might show up on the album possibly as a solo version.
thejolo1980Participantgreat news, is there any chance that these shows will be recorded like the 2007 shows?
thejolo1980Participantthis works out perfect for me, i am running a (half) marathon in indianapolis on oct 17th so i will be able to get to chicago for at least the show on the 15th. perfect timing!!!
thejolo1980Participanthttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gr9Bf1a72Ik Side of the Road from the Covington concert. Enjoy.
thejolo1980Participantok i hope this link works… http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewPicture&friendID=136539363&albumId=2269737 if by chance this does not work, you can find the pics i took at myspace. my user name there is the same as here, thejolo1980. sorry if the pics gives anyone a sore neck, but i have no clue how to rotate them to be rightside up. hope you all enjoy and i will try to upload my video sometime soon, but by judging how this went, who knows how long that will be lol.
thejolo1980Participantlafayette, that same “fan” who took the setlist is the same drunk i was talking about in my post, and i agree, totally uncool. if only i was a bit bigger i would have beat the crap out of him lol
thejolo1980Participanti was there last night front and center. i was about 3 people deep from the stage directly in front of lucinda. this was my 5th time seeing lucinda and i have to say it was the best show i have seen from her. i brought 2 friends with me, one of which had never seen her before. when she started i was not sure how the night was going to go. being so close to the stage, the music seemed to overpower her voice for the first 2 songs and i could barely hear her. after big red sun blues, she told the crew to turn her mic up and for the rest of the night it was a perfect balance between her voice and the music.
the 1st of 2 highlights for me personally was hearing side of the road live for the 1st time. i decided to record it on my camera and it turned out really good. the only downside was this drunk guy in front of me who pushed his way to the front of the stage and kept getting in my way. i will try to post it on youtube when i figure out how to upload videos lol. the 2nd highlight for me was during the best performance of joy i have seen in a long time. the drunk guy in front of me decided to go get another beer at this point and left me with a pretty decent amount of space between me and the people right at the front of the stage. this may sound a little corny but i was singing along with lucinda and watching her intently and for about 3 or 4 seconds i caught her watching me and she let out a big grin as our eyes locked. i could not get her attention for the rest of the night but for those few seconds it was pretty damn awesome.
besides a few rude people who had pushed their way to the front right before she came on, after a lot of people had been there waiting, the only other thing i had noticed that i found to be very off putting was an older man who was standing next to my friend who clearly was wasted beyond belief. about a quarter of the way into the show he took out a joint and lit up, which wasnt so bad but he purposely blew the smoke up onto stage in chets face. a little later on he took out a pill bottle which had another joint in it and smoked that up, only this time he blew the smoke directly into lucindas face. she looked really annoyed and i almost thought she was going to stop the song and say something.
before the show started my friends and i had dinner at a korean restaurant down the street from the theatre. as we were walking there we noticed a few of the band members walking around which was pretty cool. i did manage to get about 50 or 60 pics of lucinda during the concert which i will try and post sometime soon. i guess i have to get a facebook page or something. i will link it when i get them up. i asked my friend who had never seen her live before if she would see her again and she replied with a definite yes. so all in all it was an amazing night and i hope she gets back this way very soon.
thejolo1980Participantany idea when the tickets will start going on sale? specifically the covington ky show? 😀
thejolo1980Participanthere is the blurb from billboard.com
Country/rock vet Lucinda Williams’ “Little Honey” (Lost Highway) starts at No. 9 with 35,000. Her 2007 album, “West,” began at No. 14, but sold more in its first week, raking in 57,000.
thejolo1980Participanti have to agree with tntracy, i would have been at the columbus show and nasvhville show, but could only attend the knoxville show, and it was due to income factors, not because ive already heard the songs played live before.
thejolo1980Participantthanks a lot! yeah i was surprised it was not in there either. i thought thats what she was singing but was not 100% sure.
thejolo1980Participantyou can now listen to 30 seconds of each song at barnesandnoble.com it also has the times for each song
http://music.barnesandnoble.com/Little-Honey/Lucinda-Williams/e/602517741737/?cds2Pid=18835thejolo1980Participantmy friend and i were 4th row in knoxville. we were off to the left side, right in front of the huge speakers and we both agree that it was not loud at all. many times i have left a concert where i cant hear anything for an hour afterwards and neither of us had any trouble after this one. oh well, i guess thats just the perks of being in our 20s lol.
thejolo1980Participantbestbuy.com is stating that while supplies last you can get 5 digital downloads of demo recordings of jailhouse tears 2, rarity, circles & x’s, knowing, and if wishes were horses. it does not say if it is online only or if it good for in stores too.
thejolo1980Participantjust an fyi, if you go to cdnow.com and go the the little honey page, there is a link where you can listen to five of the songs: real love, if wishes were horses, jailhouse tears, little rock star, and tears of joy. they sound amazing!
