For the record, no pun intended, Bone Of Contention is a Lucinda song.
Thanks for the enlightenment, can’t believe I didn’t know that. I had downloaded “Lu in 08” and thus wasn’t able to study the packaging, but assumed that Lu had found yet another cool song from some obscure talent. It all makes sense now. Thx! 🙂
Yes, a few of us were lucky to have heard it live just before Little Honey was wrapped. I believe Tom would affirm that it almost made the record, might even have added to the “upbeat” quotient among the final half if it had. Still, when Mama makes a decision, Mama’s decision sticks. . . .
stogerParticipantPerfect content, grammar, AND punctuation, guys. Good to be remembered by Eileen too. LWJ, obviously the venue wasn’t located across from the stateside equivalent of Fran’s (apostrophe needed?), or else you and Lefty would have hooked up there. Lefty, I guess no author reading preceded this particular Lu show. Still, glad you boys got together in Lu bliss. . .

You surely know how to prime the pump, Tom. And thanks too for those NY and New England set list additions, along with the post-interview mood comments. Feel like I’m living the tour vicariously from the balmy American South. . .

Thank you for the great rendition of Blue; and also for Born To Be Loved for Kylie and her Mom.
On to Lebanon tomorrow.Edit: I left out “I Lost It”. Don’t know how: It sounded awesome. Next stop after tonight is LA for me!
Thanks, Tim: you could make a significant vault toward your 200th Lu show if you squeeze in Fillmore X 2 prior to the El Rey bookings, this month–especially given the format just announced. I’m just sayin’. . . .

…LWj & I will take care of the set list. You can just sit back & enjoy the music. Balmy temps above freezing with no snow forecast for Sunday! 🙂
Yes, come up to Buffalo stoger.
Be like paul_from_losangeles who on the spur of the moment jumps on the red eye to attend a gig.Buffalo is also very close to Lafayette’s 7 hour driving limit. 😆
lwjYou reference two of the Forum’s finest here, lwj–though my sense is that paul from la does VERY little in the way of spontaneous things. Those red-eye reservations are booked months in advance, I suspect. Good weather, eh? You boys are making a case.

stogerParticipantSongs 2-4 are almost my very favorite for Lu to play live: thanks, Tom. Had I been lurking on front “row” standing and seen the playlist, I might have yelled out “Those 3 Days,” another favorite.
Catch us up on Westhampton, if you haven’t already; I may have missed it.
Lefty, we await your explication of Fanny from Helm’s “The Weight” with baited breath. 😀
stogerParticipantGreat to hear–and no comment on the adverb spelling. Can you estimate a setlist, or at least give a few titles? Much appreciated by us landlocked Non-New Englanders basking in mid 70’s climes. . .

Thanks Tom…great to know that the show will go on despite the damage caused by “Snowtober” in Ridgefield and the surrounding area.
Ridgefield’s HamletHub confirms that, power restored or not, “Lucinda Williams will rock the house” Nov 1st as well. Link here:

Well, DID she “rock the house,” or no?
stogerParticipantPerhaps with a day off, the new month will bring back power. Meanwhile, did the Westhampton, NY show go on? Reports?

Oh Jesus. The wheels have come off. I long for an error free post.
Isn’t “error-free” a compound adjective, tony? 😀
But enough of this mixing of my day job and my true life. And punchdrunk, we’ll defer for now to Spanish/South American traditions on the “quotation and comma-period issue”, OK?

Busted. Ouch. Spelling too.
I use to be very intimidated by the Professor when writing emails to him. I feel your pain, tonyg.
“use” to be or “used” to be, lafayette?
stogerParticipantIndeed, punchdrunk–with the Shelby Lynne version somewhere in between, perhaps.
