Note the spelling error of Doug’s last name on PDF page 4, Background Vocal for “Walk On”. Hopefully, the error occurs only for this PDF, and not on the actual album notes.
Hey Paul I’m the English teacher/proofreader, you the engineer! But good catch. . .

Wow… this is a whole new cast of characters… Thanks for the info, DavidK!
Not entirely new, as Gia C was on West and maybe other records, most notably vocalizing on “Learning How to Live.” Leisz of course has been all over her material, and Jonathan Wilson produced and played on one or more Lu efforts, perhaps the Jackson Browne tribute song, though I can’t remember for sure.
The Bill Frissell material is being held for the next record, hopefully year 2015!

Always a pleasure, stoger. I have to admit, I was quite surprised the images were as such, knowing your propensity for owning a basic mobile phone. Does this mean you’ll be taking selfies?? 😈
Selfies are on my future development plan list.

Thanks, Lafayette–and I had forgotten myself about the earlier Marc Ford appearance!

Good research, Lafayette, and good teasers lwj.
Viv, Stu had a Wallflowers commitment, I do believe.

Indeed, though pretty early on the west coast still. Between my hint and LWJ’s visual, surely we have a winner by now in the one-off guitarist sweepstakes. Further hint: this gentleman’s former band’s name (two words) has the initials of a popular long-running comic strip, and he himself has just released a record with his own new supporting band.

Rockin’ in the Free World21 songs in a festival set: not too shabby, eh. Lu started a bit later than scheduled, but finished 1:05 after the official list time.
As your friend and mine tonyg might say, “more tomorrow.”
Except to say (and both vmorris & lafayette are disqualified here), can anyone name Lu’s guitarist for the evening? Hint: his initials correspond to a common English-language expletive which cannot be typed without censorship here.

Present and accounted for. Just bumped into soundman Mark Humphreys in the festival hotel elevator. The early omens are good.

TROUBADOUR ALERT: Sunday Nov 9 … some folks like Car Wheels on a Gravel Road … stay tuned for details

It’s a shame we have to ferret this out bit by bit, lwj, but by God I’ll take the bait in order to plan my schedule. The Kentucky Theatre, where Lu has played in the past, seems exclusively given over to movies these days (cp. the Belcourt in Nash). There’s a joint called Lyric Theatre in Lex which might fit the bill, but it has only one or two fall concerts listed. Any further clues from this mysterious “TROUBADOUR ALERT?” I’m prepared to invest hours of my own time in cobbling together a fall tour schedule.
stogerParticipantI was fortunate to have been there that night, Mike. It was some Portland venue where Ted Nugent’s name was on the marquee for the next night. No doubt lwj will retrieve my report from the archives. . . .
stogerParticipantPerhaps the moderator could integrate this with the new thread started by Lafayette; I wasn’t able to read the mini-memoir at the time digitally, but thanks to goodreads and Lafayette we all can now. I went so far as to order the print copies from Dan Stone at Radio Silence, with the first two issues being superb. The paper/print issue with the Lu/Miller stuff won’t be out until November, and I urge folks to subscribe/buy it. And yes, that wine around the table closing anecdote is powerful.

First, tnt, it’s wonderful to see you posting once again in the FF forum. Last night was one for the books. INCREDIBLE set list, and the horsemen reunited. JOY!
Second, lwj, your memory astounds me. No, it really does. I had told Tom last night I was almost certain our last show together as the Four Horsemen was in Cleveland where Lu co headlined with Amos. I forgot about the AMA award show and showcases.
Technically, our last concert was July 16, 2011 in Cleveland.
The AMA’s were on Oct. 13, 2011. Call it how you see it, tnt. Show or last time we were together?
Random searching for Lu stuff brought me to a great picture of the Four Horsemen + Lucinda in Macon.
Since it’s on a Twitter page connected with FF member Lafayette I’ll let her have the pleasure of linking the pic for all to see here.lwj
Or not. A couple of us are a bit camera-shy. Oh heck, it’s ok with me if it’s ok with Horse[wo]man westwords.

Ha: thanks for this piecemeal approach, Lafayette. It is all the scraps we have for pre-planning, mere weeks out.

I did a general FF search using keywords “John Cash” “Johnny Cash” and “Change the Locks” (change, not changed, allowing for a dropped d) and could find nothing regarding my following post.
Johnny Cash Covers an unreleased version of “Changed The Locks” as uploaded on YouTube a year ago. Surely, this was posted somewhere in this forum and I missed it. Anyone?
I tried to find additional information and initially came up with nothing. Here’s Johnny’s version.

One of the comments had me searching for The Silo’s version. Really cool version. Apparently, stoger had the 411 on The Silos (and I even responded in the same thread but remember nothing regarding Silos talk) -> viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3690&p=22868&hilit=silos#p22868

ah yes, bittersweet lafayette, as I once lost a CD wallet on a flight which had this Silos record, plus a library copy of Robbie Fulks’ Let’s Kill Saturday Night, including the duet with Lu on “Pretty Little Poison”–aka the body fluids song she sometimes references when introducing “The Night’s Too Long” or “Something About…” from the stage. I have been able to replace neither out-of-print record, sadly.
I did find The Schramms record with “Side of the Road” though some months back, at Antones Records of Austin.

Get Right With God* After further review it appears this setlist site may not be very accurate. Or accurate at all perhaps.
I looked at the setlist for the show at the Zoo I went to and it was not correct. Then I checked the upcoming concert in AR cause there was a link and they already have the future concert setlist posted.. (looks like a great show .. 😉 )Maybe what happens in Alaska …stays in Alaska.
I don’t understand; do you mean “they” have posted the Fayetteville roots list? Who/what is the antecedent? Is setlist.com different from setlistfm? I thought individual human beings posted to one or both–presumably POST show. I’m confused.
I’m available to list the songs coming up on August 30, if people are interested.
