thanks everyone for posting things over to this Forum site.
stogerParticipantRhymes with Brian. . . I hope they’re up to that band’s caliber.

I got nothing, although I saw a picture of it on Facebook so I know it happened. 😉
I’ll take that and run.
stogerParticipantHope Viv will tell us soon about a Jan. 10 opportunity in our nation’s capital.
stogerParticipantthanks for ferreting all this out on Denver and Austin, whoever deserves the credit. Dallas surely can’t be far behind, and I have high hopes for a Kansan or two as well.
stogerParticipantCredit where credit is due, tonY: it was lafayette who first posted the setlist. Color commentary, anyone? The KBB in good form? Alas my Rocky Mountain plan went awry, but I should be able to capture show #5 of this tour coming up, including any update on the Beatle Bob phenomenon. Texans, let’s pick up the ball.

Right in FF member West Words neighborhood as per Lu’s Facebook page.
(Lucinda mgmt) Lucinda will be in Ponte Vedra 1/13

this squares with the notion of a few concerts in FL up around the cruise. I figure maybe two more on the front end, a couple at least after the sailing ends. . . .
stogerParticipantIndeed, swisschris–and for the americanstogers of the world, too. . .

Lu tops the list of Top 25 Roots Halloween songs, along with bringing up the rear with “Return of the Grievous Angel.” I was pretty excited to see my girl, Angela Perley, receiving a shout out, with her song “Ghost!”

Ha: don’t really see what that G Parsons duo she did with David Crosby has to do with things ghoulish, but hey, you go girl. And Perley rocks too.

Finally figured out (again) how to post pics..
This looks like the spot…Excellent, Mike–believe me, the tacos and the football were somewhere on this one too. Glad to know the joint still has its priorities.

The song is also referenced in the book on which the movie is based! In Cheryl Strayed’s memoir Wild about her solo trek on the Pacific Coast Trail after her mother’s death and her own self-destruction, she talks about one day on the trail when she filled the time by deciphering the lyrics to Lucinda Williams’ “Something About What Happens When We Talk.” It was a nice shout-out to our Lovely One in a bestselling book. 🙂 It would be cool if that’s how the song is included in the movie itself! Viv
Didn’t you once meet Cheryl Strayed, Viv? At any rate, find a thread to tell us about the Jayhawks show, OK?

Sad to read that Kasey is having medical issues with her vocal chords. Hopefully, her respite will alleviate the problem:

Hope you didn’t have hundreds invested in a jet to Down Under Land, Paul. . .

copied from Lu’s Facebook, one of the best marquee’s going.

Agreed, lwj. It’s much better than the outdoor signage at the Montbleu Casino of State Line, NV from January 2012, where Lu shared marquee promotional space with the slogans “99 Cent Tacos Here” & “49ers-Giants on Big Screen Tomorrow.”
wish I had a visual. . .
stogerParticipantThanks for this, Mike. I’ve only seen The Man thrice (New Orleans with Lu; Nashville; Memphis), but perhaps this tour will mark a fourth. Our dentist friend in Oklahoma whose handle I’ve forgotten (coffee cup?) has surpassed this by light years, I suspect.
Meanwhile, an Olson-less Jayhawks are making the rounds, and I highly recommend this line-up. Material from Sound of Lies, Smile, and Rainy Day Music (whose promotion involved an opening slot on the Lu bill back in the day) is the main concentration.
