Bummer. I had heard NYC City Winery would be late Jan. 2023, right after the return from Europe, and that Norwalk might be squeezed in then. But I think Lucinda and the band decided to give themselves a [much deserved] break after Europe. Your day will come, seangod.
stogerParticipantATLANTA NIGHT FOUR SETLIST

6 Lake Charles
7 Ventura
8 Something About What Happens. . . [“one of my hit songs which never got played on the radio”]

12 You Can’t Rule Me
13 Unsuffer Me [no Laura in sight]

16 Joy [David has to prompt her to sing the last few bits, so he and the band can do the finale featuring Butch standing by the drum kit]

17 Faith & Grace
18 Rockin’ in the Free World [Lu abandons the mike and meanders stage right, so close to the edge that tour manager Travis has to come out and keep watch]I believe I’m right that, of Lucinda’s 13 studio albums, 11 were represented last night, surely a record number. Throw in one sure to be on the 2023 album, plus one cover, and a diverse night was clearly had by all. Oddly, nothing from the Rough Trade self-title album was trotted out.
Thanks for a great week: easymike, the smiths, laura, travis, and others I may have forgotten. It was wondrous.
stogerParticipantWell listed, Sean. Night’s too long had a lengthy intro mentioning Patty Loveless and Robbie Fulks.
In front of Metal Firecracker Lu told a miniversion of the story she used during the Car Wheels shows.
The closest thing to acknowledgement of Ms. Lynn’s passing this week was the word “Loretta” in the course of Car Wheels.
I finally realized that the phrase “Dylan and The Boss” is in the lyrics of “Let’s get the band back together.”
The person seated next to me,one Laura from Nashville, called “Unsuffer Me” her “pandemic safe song.”
One more big night to go. . .
stogerParticipantNIGHT TWO SETLIST
1 Are You Alright
2 Can’t Let Go
3 Big Red Sun Blues
4 Bad News Blues
5 People Talkin’
6 Drunken Angel
7 Lake Charles
8 Bus to Baton Rouge [long intro featuring figs and chewing tobacco]
9 Fruits of My Labor
10 Are You Down
11 Pray the Devil Back to Hell [but with no Stuart violin segment]
12 Let’s Get the Band Back Together [Lu calls it a “singalong,” but we fail at it, possibly because it’s not been recorded and has been played live in only half a dozen cities]
13 Real Live Bleeding… [with the Replacements mentioned after]
14 Essence
15 Honeybee
16 Joy

18 RighteouslystogerParticipantQuite accurate a list, Mr. Keymaster. After the third song, Lucinda fretted about spoiling the dinners of city winery patrons with her downbeat songs, then spoke of the issue of whether to censor herself–before launching happily into those three days!
All in all, this crowd was pretty unresponsive, but the Georgian Flannery O’Connor got a hand when mentioned in intro to lake charles.
Lu compared “let’s get the band back together” to the movie Old School, which i am not familiar with.
Good to see forum members easy mike, railroad, and mrs. railroad.
stogerParticipantThere’s some talk about a late January Norwalk make-up, right after the return to Europe. Some of those New England shows were seasonal festivals I think, so the whole slate is unlikely to be redone.
So get the snowmobile ready. . . .
stogerParticipantThanks lafayette, good report.
stogerParticipant#1 and #5 would appear to be tour debuts, both from my favorite album.
Now if “lafayette” can get us through the KY/OH show with a meaty post, I should be able to carry the day in Chatt and Atlanta. . . .
stogerParticipantAh, if only Randy Weeks had named that one “It’s Over,” it might have been a career breakthrough for him! Thanks Tony & Alyssa.
stogerParticipantIt takes an Iowan to single out an Iowan in parenthesis: good job Mike!
stogerParticipantI like that #7. Dare I use the well-worn phrase “tour debut?”
stogerParticipantMore than underway I think, though not sure what the 2023 release date will be. Pretty much in the can, including some re-dos, I believe. And can we now rest assured that “Let’s Get the Band Back Together” is in fact a new song title? Whoo hoo!
stogerParticipantNo, but I’ll fish around. At any rate, I hope you get a FULL Connecticut show whenever that comes back around.
stogerParticipantA kind of horse’s mouth told me about summer 2023, Dr., though Paris is the only city he mentioned. I think late June/July is the frame. Will keep the Forum abreast. . .
stogerParticipantThanks, Dr. Hope you can make some of those January shows on your side of the pond. I’m not crossing over then, but possibly in July or so for what is rumoured (Brit. sp.) to be a second European tour of 2023!
