I’m officially disappointed – all psyched to make the 9 hour drive to Philly for Wednesday’s show at World Cafe AND…my husband was just told he’s needed in New York on business.

So, I’m now going to the Nelsonville show. 🙂

Huh? Didn’t you use to work for that firm too, Lafayette? I believe a formal protest is in order. But it won’t be your maiden visit to the Opera House, eh?

Thanks for a great report, Tony–with a Tom correction on a WWT tune.

Wow, Dylan & Cooke in same encore. And I trust the “full” version of “Faith and Grace” was done. There are two, maybe three versions, right Tom?

LIve debuts for “Place in My Heart” and “Doors of Heaven”, kinda. I believe the former might have been done once prior to record release. Doors was done years ago, but I will love hearing it live in its new format/arrangement.

Born to Be Loved?????? Blake Mills did that one great, Doug too if I remember aright.

Yes, we west Tennesseeans will take credit for Charles Lloyd, indeed.

Let’s step up Philly fans, get us to New Haven and NY at least. Mike, you pumped?

Ten messages in this thread and no setlist yet? OK Ok I’m slow sometimes too. But this foreplay for this one-off show is giving me the title of a music fest in Switzerland. Song titles please. Wake up in the west it’s almost 9 a.m. there, right? Tony, save the golf courses for tomorrow. Mike? Grumpy?

Since I have nothing better to do I’ll get this going now. I have seen Sean Rowe, the opener, before, I think people will like him. Awkward sentence structure I know, Mr. S., I am too lazy to fix it. Bill Frisell is on the bill also, I guess as part of the band.

If your going, say so. 😛

“on the bill”, Tony????????????????????????? The man will of course be in the band, which should make this night special. You cover this one, I’ll try to cover the majority of the other 32, OK? Not that either of us can count.

Two more show confirmed today -official announcements coming soon:
4/28 – Houston -House Of Blues
4/29 – New Orleans – House Of Blues (during Jazz Fest but not technically part of JF)

    these are in addition to:
    4/25 -Austin –KUT benefit show
4/26 – New Braunfels TX –Whitewater Paillion (w/Neil Young)
4/30 – Memphis -Beale Street Fest
    5/6 – Oxford
5/7 – Meridian Miss. -Jimmie Rodgers Festival
5/8 – show about to be confirmed here but not quite yet -I could give clues but that would make it easy -and don’t want to say/jinx anything until it’s officially confirmed.

And that ends March/April/May which will be the longest single US run that Lu has done in over 10 years.

Ha ha: there’s life beyond Meridian. Keep us informed!

I guess it’s June–which works against my notion that the Spain stuff will be in July, after the British stuff. Still, summertime is summertime. . . .

I’m unclear whether this is “June” 17 or “July” 17.

This has now expanded into the March/April/May tour as more dates are being added -announcements coming soon. The run will now end 5/7 in Meridian, Miss.

give Oxfordtown a shout-out too, Tom. Pollstar does not [usually] lie about such things.

P.S. Name two musicians who were born and bred in Meridian.

Chris Ethridge (Flying Burrito Bros),Pat Sansone (Wilco)
Many more including Hayley Williams , Paul Davis, Alvin Fielder, Jimmie Rodgers and soul singer Al Wilson.

*Google and I would like to know where we can claim our prize(s) ❗

Well guessed, Mike (I know this quiz is now buried in importance beneath Tom’s Texas quiz, which I will not try to involve myself in). Jimmie Rodgers I had in mind, plus Steve Forbert. Ethridge is a good catch, love his playing with Gram and the Burrito Bros.

Oh my. I hadn’t Clue One about Frank Stanford until this afternoon when snoopy me decided to poke around in Lucinda’s forum. What an article!

This is a guy who would have been one of my running mates, as they say, “back in the day…” we were about the same age, and about the same crazy. He had many more gifts than I, I suspect, but who knows but that I might have cadged some inspiration from that beautiful head of his.

This always happens to me: I just get started reading somebody, and I’m really into it. And then along comes somebody else with lights flashing and sirens blaring. So who shall it be?

Copper Canyon Press has just re-released some of his poetry, one volume at least. Check it out.
