West and Blue! You really scored! ๐
PS. Oh shit you meant West Memphis didnt you. Never mind.
Alas, yes–two Mathis harmonica tunes in a row. Now clarified above.
stogerParticipantHate to say it, but i note a certain downward progression of grey mane from photo one to photo two, front row center at stage. . .

The Dresden-date on the Tour Dates-page is wrong…
Lucinda will perform in Germany on the following dates:

June 26th Hamburg, Kampnagel
June 27th Dresden, Alter Schlachthof

Oh my God I practically had the Lufthansa flight booked. Thanks, swisschris.

Tickets on sale Monday…(9th)
http://home.deserttrip.comBooked a room not far from venue before announcement and am now debating whether to go..
Thinking of getting a camping spot instead for the three days and making it into a survival type trip ๐As much as I LOVE a live Rolling Stones show, the Saturday line-up with McCartney and Neil turns this from a one night opportunity into a near mandatory three day pass.
Mike D as woodsy outdoor Survivor–I like it! Next you’ll be wallowing in the Bonnaroo mud for a whole week in June.
stogerParticipantGood report, Laf, good notes. YOu got it right; T-Bone’s country-solicited material apparently wasn’t getting used on the show, so he quit–only to return later I think. Meanwhile, Dan Auerbach of the Black Keys produced “Bitter Memory” for the Nashville soundtrack and that one episode at the end of season one. The song is OK as such, but obviously no match for the trio version of last night and several nights on the Lu tour.

Lines Around Your Face is a rarity, so it seems.
Even rarer than “Lines Around Your Eyes,” I should think. . . ๐
P.S. “Rarity” is a rarity too.
Signed, The Original Professor
stogerParticipant“west,” really??
stogerParticipantThanks for digging this up, laf. “lines Around Your Eyes” finally makes it on the “right” side of the slash mark!
stogerParticipantLong time coming this day-after-show recap on this leg of the tour: thanks Dawn. I can see Dom flat out dancin’ a jig to “Crescent City” in the locale itself. We’ll try to follow up the reports on most of the remaining few shows, though our co-moderator may have to revive his password for the Athens report.
stogerParticipantHoly Hail Merkel–has anyone had a look at the “tour dates” update? German shows are all over the month of June, and let’s hope Obama urged the London mayor and his conservative cronies to keep the UK in the European Union, for the tour goes in and out of Britain multiple times too. The Netherlands is also big. And getting from what is now the tour opener in east Germany to northwestern Spain for back-to-back gigs boggles my [admittedly limited] Eurogeographic understanding. Tom, will there even be a few before Dresden potentially? I must plan, along with the New Jerseyites and others.
stogerParticipantredundant for you Tom maybe, but we enjoy the postings here. Matter of fact, if you skipped your native state of MN and went straight to Denver and Dallas news/lists, I wouldn’t complain. I assume you got out of CO (Breckenridge) before the storm hit. It would be nice to know Lu has, in fact, played live 4 nights since you left Minnesota. But I will be patient.

I believe I will take your recommendation and go out and buy a Jesse Malin record on this Record Store day, stoger.
Listened to a couple of his tracks online after your (literal) introducton to him at CW NY.Impressive.. thanks for the tip, I think I’ll start with the Mercury Lounge disc.
Yes, we were fortunate to see Jessie at that Lu [after]show in NY, Mike. He remembered.
Also, anyone interested in my first post of this thread above should re-read for more accurate info about Mr. Stuart Mathis, and the correct spelling of Marla’s name. Wrote it down in my pocket planner right, transcribed it wrong here ๐

Info on Lu’s release for Record Store Day, April 16, 2016.
Edit to note: I also posted this info into the thread Viv posted recanting the making of GOH20, per TO’s most excellent blog.

What, she recanted the making of one of the finest records ever???? Oh, “recounting” the history of it, I suppose. Anyway, yes I’m headed over to Grimey’s of Nashville for Record Store Day: long may the celebration run.

There are those Lyons, Co dates on High Road Touring’s Page Aug 19-21
Just announced on FB, Ocean City, NJ Aug 29 ( If any one has the presale code, sharing would be nice )
Anyone got any clues, ideas, information ?OK, this is NOT on the topic of meeting stoger. Northampton Beach, NY seems to be on the Friday after this Ocean City gig, ie., Sept. 2. High Road says so. Are we leading up to some Labor Day hijinks in The Big Apple itself?
Encouraging to see Colorado fest in there, then east coast, then back on west coast. Something for fans of multiple regions–and for those whose travels transcend any one spot.

The Full Frame Festival in Durham, NC this last weekend featured a documentary called Two Trains Runnin’ about “the search for two forgotten blues singers, Son House and Skip James, set in Mississippi during the height of the civil rights movement. Directed by Sam Pollard [executive produced by Common!] and featuring the music of Gary Clark Jr., with all-new musical performances by Clark, Buddy Guy, Lucinda Williams, Chris Thomas King, North Mississippi Allstars, and more.” I can’t believe I missed the film at the festival, and maybe I missed info about Two Trains Runnin’ on FF or Facebook, but does anyone know about Lu’s involvement with the film? Where to get a snip of her performance in the film (I’m assuming it was Hard Time Killing Floor Blues)? I’m going to try to still see the film somehow, somewhere.
Also, I was thinking today about what my (personal) ideal Lu setlist would be — what would be on it, why, in what order. I may just give it a whirl and post it. Not as a suggestion to Lu or anything like that, but as a reflection of my personal relationship with her music. I bet we all could curate our own setlists! A possible FF challenge, or too personal??
This is a must see, Viv. I believe this title is also the title of an August Wilson play–or close.
Let’s hope Tom can shed some light.
