My lone “wisecrack” about the pics would involve the heightened frizziness of David’s hair, but I’ll refrain.

Thanks, newguy: flawless setlist. Here are a few addenda:

Passionate K was solo, as of course was Ghosts. Lake C was duo, Bitter M trio.

In front of “Lake Charles,” Lu tipped her hat to NC songwriter Malcolm Holcombe as “underrated” and a great American singer-songwriter. I once attended a house concert of his in Jackson, TN–over Tift Merritt at our downtown civic center. Two Tar Heels gracing our city in one night–then practically nobody for months.

LU said Sept. is goal for re-release of SOW record. She said it is “damn good” and admitted she was “hesitant to revisit” some of these songs initially (not now).

“West” was intro’ed with the statement that most singer/songwriters have more ballads than other types of songs, faintly apologetic for doing it so relatively late in set, but she nailed it oh boy.

Warren Haynes was lauded in front of the Allman Bros cover; apparently he invites her to some annual Asheville music thing, and one day she plans to accept.

Good to see some Forum folk: who’s going to St. Louis Night One? I can handle night two setlist, indeed indeed.

Nicely stated Tom: neither understated nor overstated. Nicely stated 😀

What makes you think I’ve not joined the big FB and been lurking all the while, tony?

Actually, I’m with Lu when it comes to Facebook Live status 😡

    Nice airport cameo, Paul.

It might be worth noting that in addition to expletives, Kasey’s talking blues song also includes the lyrics “sweet old world” and “Ah, Lucinda.”

2 more songs cut last night -what I consider two of Lu’s lost gems, Memphis Pearl and Sidewalks Of The City. Hoping to get a couple more tonight.

And I just bet she hit those high notes on “Memphis Pearl” in fine fettle.

Your posts are brain food. 8)

    Enjoy your Labor Day festivities!

Well, it now looks like Saturday the 2nd is “blocked” unless we get four nights in a row; though I might go for two shows, I doubt I would for one. Sat. and Sun. would have to be the Labor Day weekend shows in question.

    Paging Lefty…

Complete list of shows Erika is supporting was posted on Lu’s FB page.

    4/26 -St. Louis — Pageant
    4/29 -Madison
    4/30 -Des Moines
    5/2 – Dayton
    5/4 & 5—Tarrytown NY
    5/6 -Collinswood NJ (Philly)
    5/8 -Annapolis
    5/9 -Albany

It would take a “heartless bastard” indeed to pass up an Erika show in his home state on the 9th. Hint hint.

Yes -that is what’s happening in Mpls -Sweet Old World from beginning to end–and then some more.

Ah, and “Lines Around Your Eyes” has recently been “rehearsed.” That Nick Drake one proved a little tricky in the same format a few years ago, but I’m sure Lu will nail it next month. Looking forward.

Tremendous report and history lesson, Mr. S. 8)

But I tried to correct an artist misspelling just now, Tony. D Kingman was the guy who had towering 40+ home run seasons with the Giants et. al. but always batted about .210, right? I also added a Lu-Rubarth fact for that paragraph. You and those four other people who accessed it early were a bit misled. Mea culpa.

I think you might have the wrong date, ticketmaster.nl is saying 30th August not September for the Paradiso show and is currently “Not on sale yet”.

    🙂

Definitely we should see some late August/early Sept. European dates popping up soon. Me, I’d like to see that forefronted into the mid August range. . . .

We may have to ask Stoger, since if he wasn’t there, it didn’t happen. 8)

2005? Sorry, I was only twelve years old then.
