Don Was produced a record cut earlier this year (or late last) with, as I understand it, about half Lu songs and half his. The Marvels (some incarnation thereof) are on it. I believe a couple or so were cut and not used–Lu ones I mean. For the ones which will likely be on it, see the ones she played at the Dakota in March, somewhere on this Forum. With the addition of “Joy,” she played essentially the same ones in New orleans a month later.

Nice credit to see. One now wonders when Blue Note Records will release Lu’s collaboration with Charles Lloyd and the Marvels.

Was. setlist was similar to Dakota Club, though Frisell and drummer Harwood were replaced, the former by temporary Marvel Stuart Mathis. I may write more if I’m convinced this actually gets posted and the system is working.

Surprised there’s an opener, but great tour. I like Lafayette and tony’s “LSD” tour phrasing, though it could be “LDS” tour in honor of our Mormon fans. I think everyone knows whose initial rightly goes first.

I’m ticketed for night one at 10, landing circa 7:30. WE’ll see about Saturday.

A Mike by any other name. . . Might I see you there? I’m already set for Lloyd & Williams at N.O. Jazz Fest in April. Yippee.

And weren’t you yet a different handle prior to “backstreets?” “Nebraska” maybe?

Pretty significant round-number too, isn’t it Tony? And isn’t it great that you and I are safely two or three decades below that number?

I just love it when “Pool Deck” is the walk-on song, Jersey. It sets the stage so well. Aw, seriously thanks for weighing in so us landlubbers will know some of the goings-on. And yours humble truly will be seen at HOB. Safe passage. . .

You must not be bilingual Tony; of course, I’m not either, and I misspelled two of the French words. Were I able to find the edit button, I would amend. “Le bon temps roule” is I believe correct. But good use of the passive voice verb mode, Tony!

Holy les bon temps roulet, Michel! I’m practically in/to New Orleans right now, if you get my drift. A late April reprise will not come amiss.

Good catch, Mike. Midweek sucks, but maybe there will be headlining shows up around.

Same to everyone, Mr. Keymaster. To all a successful log-in via the “Account” feature, to all a good-night. Or is it a homepage “Forum Login” feature now? No matter, the “edit” feature works; I’ve proved that. Things are on the mend, Forumwise.

Ah, Tony, you’re the man. I didn’t even mind this roundabout method of getting to the beloved Forum. Who would have thunk the “Account” feature (only one up top without all-uppercase letters) enabled the news-hungry member to log on and do his business. I predict legions of posts. Thanks Mike for the late-night footage, and Tony may your Valley be free of fires.
