In Raleigh, we got Bleeding Fingers instead of Essence in the sixth hole, same otherwise. Lu has the 20th anniversary down pat now.

Vivian and I from Forum will be near the front in Charlotte, so try to find us during one of the multiple intermissions, rainydayman.

Yes, I’ll see you in Charlotte, raindayman. When you return to the Forum, you return with a vengeance.

Punk rockers, insects, coyotes: a day in the life of Tony G. None of that is likely to grace the upcoming LSD Southern leg, but I’ll be our eyes and ears four nights in a row. . . .

Letter perfect, Tony. Good to see Doug Pettibone, Peggy & Robert too. Tony has other comments to add too, I suspect. The King of Upgrades, our Forum moderator.

    1Something Wicked
    2 West Memphis
3 Drunken Angel (“He’s the reason I was able to write songs like this” Lu says of harmonicaist Steve Earle, also noting that she is taking a “herbal pill” from the stage)
4 Lake Charles (Lu wrongly says it’s the 25th anniversary of Car Wheels)
5 Ventura (midway Lu says to band “Play it; I have to cough”–thus, we get two Neil Young allusions, not just one)
    6 Changed the Locks
7 Foolishness (“A political dance song,” punctuated by coughs–“It’s the President’s fault; there’s shit in the air”)
8 Joy (with SE–Lu speaks of an “allergic conspiracy”)

    Soon, Tony!

Aye aye, cap’n. Nice play on King Leg for the subject title too. Come on to San Fran as well, if work–i.e. golf–permits.

Well, at least his name begins with “L.” Check that renowned Fest in Rhode Island for the answer.

I’ll reply to my own topic since i can’t find “start new topic” despite being logged in; the crickets are deafening. Just wanted to let folks know that in addition to all the shows listed on this website (Boston!?!), at least two more are in the offing: a festival in Greenville, MS on Oct. 13 (High Road Touring) and a Dec. 10 Durham, NC show with Charles Lloyd (Ticketmaster). Note the new Texas shows listed here too.

Noble effort, Mike, but wasn’t “Out of Touch” in there somewhere? Clean-up slot I think, with Doors third and Atonement sixth. But yes, those were the three “new” ones hardest to keep up with. AFter “Fool,” Lu said “Take that GOP, Washington DC!” Early in set when praising the Sensational Shape Shifters, Lu said we had to get rid of “that ageism shit.”

    Until August everybody, Stoger

Thanks, Lafayette. Yes, “Wicked” has been the opener in some shows since it was written, not the majority of course. It’s been the default choice on this tour. Good to see “Protection” midset, it being a sometime opener. But Firecracker and Fruits back to back: I should have squeezed in Ohio, shouldn’t I?

OH well, KC it is, with Lu’s two nieces expected to be in house.

Only a native son of New England would have called me out on my aquatic gaffe, Tony. I saw no sand or beach, but I take you at your word. As for the Beacon, it is located squarely between the East and Hudson Rivers. How am I doing?

    Allow me embellishment.

After first song, the new guitar tech came on–not to tune or switch out, but to lower the BOOK stand. Bonus duty.

Lu slipped and almost implied Townes himself rose from the grave to play himself in the Blaze Foley movie.

Before Lake C, Lu said “People in the South have a tendency to talk about the weather.”

As she strapped on “the electric” for Changed the Locks, the crowd applauded, followed by some TP praise from Lu.

Fireworks erupted on the lakefront during “Essence,” but Lu didn’t remark on it until three songs later.

Most were on their feet after Foolishness. Lu looked to the wings at end and apparently got a signal to cut it; as she was waving bye, Matt Blake emerged with one finger aloft, fortunately not the middle one. Some had subsided back into their seats, but not this boy. For my pains, I got an object hurled to my back (spitball? ice?) by the bitch seated in Center L-21. Take one for the team I guess….

Yes, all 3 got one hour each, precisely, but only Dwight got to encore. The order each night will be SLD. And “King Leg” got 20 minutes at start of evening. He is Dwight’s nephew!!!!!!!!!!!
