Thanks to Sandy/west words for streaming (if that’s the right term) show live from her front railing perch.

The new record will be out April 24, twelve tracks including one Greg Garing cover. It will be called “Good Souls Better Angels”–and no, I didn’t omit a comma.

Now we’ll see if this will post and stick

Straightforward? We lost that months ago, couple of years.

    Going to Scandinavia?

I’d say that metaphor is a big strong, though the hearse has been rumbling graveward ever since the “new format.” It only took me two tries to sign in today, for instance. But glad you are in–and the tour dates feature has been especially good. I’m appreciative of the Sweden dates, which hopefully herald a parade of European shows come summer. Welcome.

When Forum King Tony G asks me to post, I step in line.

First of all, Mr. and Mrs. Chuck Prophet were IN THE HOUSE.

    14 Ghosts of Highway 20
15 Ventura [tour debut, lovely–but I miss the pedal steel days of Sir Pettibone on this one]
    16 Essence
    17 Changed the Locks
    18 Foolishness

    19 Righteously
20 Rockin’ in the Free world [overall tour closer, seldom heard on this run]

Good to see Gerald, Rhonda, easyMike, grumpy mama, et al.

Dutifully posted 12:25 p.m. Pacific STANDARD time, stoger

Good to see you back in the Forum, Lisa. “easy mike” from Washington state and I will be at that show; “paul from los angeles” will grace the LA show. Should be a blast. . .

It may as well be closed, Jack. But since on my second try right now–with a total of 3 1/2 minutes investment–I seem to be logged in, I’ll reply. Many was the time on the Car Wheels show tour this summer (I went to six or eight) I wished to post at least songs 14–?? with commentary, but this Forum has become so technically non-viable that I despaired of it. Our UK friends did us right this summer, including breaking the news of the Ray Kennedy studio current project, but I couldn’t sign in to acknowledge same. I think little or none of this is due to trooper Tony, our moderator.

Anyone go to the Colorado festival today? With patience, you might be able to sign in and post.

    Good work, Mike.

Ha ha, no one should assume I will “add” anything here, though I seem to have survived the security/sign-in process this time, despite initially getting a “howdy stoger” and then getting kicked out by the time i went back to “Lucinda Shows.” Hallelujah.

Good seeing music lover/Kelly, along with Vivian and Atlanta friends whose Forum handle I’ve forgotten.

Last night was Hattiesburg, MS, where Lu felt at home–good old deep south. the post CW songs included “Pineola” and “Hard Time Killing floor blues.”

How about “Faith & Grace” in Nashville, Viv?

That’s all for now. House of Blues should rock.

P.S. How about those Lauderdale facial expressions, Viv?

Only since Vivian promised my “musings” am I finally on here again, somehow.

Everyone knows the first thirteen songs of the Atlanta and the Asheville shows. Two significant comments were Lu’s story in front of “I Lost It” about hitchiking up Highway 1 years ago and being given a “One Way” business card by a driver: parallels with “I Found It” there. Secondly, she did a great imitation of Marianne Faithful’s voice in comparing her eventual memoir with the rather predictable tone of MF’s own memoir.

“Seeing Black” was the AShe highlight for me, as “Ugly Truth” was the Winston highlight. Most of the post Car Wheels songs were different in Atl from Ashe, though “Foolishness” and “Get Right” and maybe one more were in common. Others can help supplement this.

By the way, who knows how to get a “New Topic” prompt when signed in? At least this time I wasn’t kicked out between signing in on the Forum general page and jumping to the “Shows” page.

Can’t start a new topic on this GD Forum, so here’s last night’s Durham setlist.

Charles Lloyd and the Marvels, then eventually:

    1 Dust
    2 Ventura
    3 Unsuffer Me
4 We Have Come Too Far. .
5 Masters of War (hey, Dylan can overtake Hendrix, no sweat: Lloyd and the boys had recorded MOW an album or two before, insturmentally)
6 Place in My Heart (supposedly Lloyd’s favorite Lu song, though it didn’t make the cut for Victory Gardens)
