A “pair of concert series” indeed! Let’s hope she means the coming fall, Lefty, as it sounds a bit like El Rey and Irving Plaza redux–which wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world. Thanks for monitoring the press.

5 Spain gigs in 7 nights: yes! There’s an airport near Bilbao, or no?

Apparently, a preview article is being written for the Madison Theater show in Covington and they are wanting to interview, give a fan’s perspective on Lu and her music. I’m not sure if the material I provided will be used but I’ll post a link once the preview is published.

You go, girl. Isn’t Cincy one of those towns we keep hearing about which has lost a second (rival) daily newspaper of late? There was once a Post, no? At any rate, preview away–looking forward.

Ah, that Ticketmaster knows no boundaries: same old same old, different language. Interesting misspelling of Lucinda’s surname for the Cartagena show, which I guess is why it’s listed on a separate page from Madrid and Barcelona. The time of the show is two hours later in Cartagena too–must be a true night owl/siesta kind of Spanish city. Now to navigate the site as a unilinguist and see about nabbing some GA tickets. . .

So, on Twitter, do people ever actually use complete sentences with subjects and predicates and so on? Is that acceptable?

Wow, really? Where is your source in the idea that Pieta (Greg Brown’s daughter) married his long-time side man BR…?

Don’t think of this as pretentious, David, but my own “source” for this info was the horse’s mouth–Lucinda Williams Herself. The other posters are absolutely correct about this intergenerational union; I believe the baby is probably one year going on two by this point. I had the chance to chat with Lucinda after a 2007 show, mentioned Bo, and she revealed the news that he and Pieta were a couple. All in the Iowa family, as it were (though Arkansas Dement complicates the extended clan model a bit). As for the name “Memphis,” that’s a new one on me (which I like, though)!

    Hello again!

I just spoke with Heart of Gold Promotions in Madrid and they have assured me that the one and only date of her show in Barcelona will be the July 20th at Sala Apolo.
All the rest concerts in Spain continue being the same dates.

    My Apologies. 😳

Thanks for clarifying this, though: and a promotional outfit named after a Neil Young hit single bodes well for the Spanish leg of the tour. . . .

Thanks for dates in Spain, but Lucinda four nights running is unprecedented, at least for North American tours. Any link for tickets or further info? Inside Job, can you confirm? Thanks.

Well, Oklahoma City is on sale–though not by any of the obvious links. Try http://www.protix.com Forget about either of the two links on the High Road touring page–or what they lead to, tickets.com and get tix. Go straight to the “pro”s, no passing of go, no collecting of two hundred bucks. And yes, it’s a GA show, with a numerical tally but not seat numbers.

Yours as the proud 293rd purchaser of Okie floor space. . .

Hell no, I won’t go, Lafayette (insert smilie here). Is no cyberspace immune? But truth to tell, I never thought I’d be on this Forum so constantly either, so maybe one day–months and years hence, let’s hope–I’ll be a twitterer too.

Keep that good old-fashioned poster and radio publicity for Covington going. . . .

Thanks so much for these perspectives: it would seem that anxious ushers and a certain segment of the “fan” base determined not to enjoy Lu shows are trans-world phenomena. I couldn’t resist ripping in to the blogger from the Wellington show (see comments after the blog “review”) in that other thread of this Forum, but apparently my comments were too subtle after all. Anyway, helpful insights here: one shocker is that “Out of Touch” was done with only Chet. Guess Lu has decided it’s not quite the transition-to-the-rockers live song after all, and this clarifies an earlier blog/review which grouped the song with the mellow ones. Maybe she’s gone back to the spirit of the Morlix Car Wheels mix on that one… Hopefully, Lucinda won’t wait another decade and a half to return to your shores.

Thanks: looks like Lu is back to a more uptempo out-of-the-gate approach–good to see those ballads in mid main set too.

Well, I can’t quite “leave it at that,” Inside J. Could the stories have involved Iggy Pop, David Bowie, and/or a man with the initials of ES? Throw us some crumbs. . . .
