Wow, duelling set lists–quite a discrepancy between the two. Only those anonymous ground-floor setlisting-texters know for sure. “Louisiana Man?” Inside Job, did she really and truly do this one? It would in fact be cool if “I Lost It” got played twice, the first time with Lucinda’s brief sexy laugh prologuing it a la the studio record, but I suspect it was done only in the Car Wheels on a GRAVEL (though these type of paths could be “Broken”) Road portion of the evening. Perhaps a Ramshead regular could clarify the actual tunes and sequencing, or else IJ/TO?

Nice find Tom. So you ferreted it out, huh?
Ferreted, indeed. For some reason, I have this mental image of rodents in leg irons; fettered ferrets, as it were… 😉 😆
While I love the picture of Lu in her big honkin’ shades & tangerine blouse, the “review” is sorely lacking, IMHO. Not even a complete set list – I’d be particularly interested in what she played from Ramblin’ and Happy Woman Blues, but for some reason the set list excludes the first songs from the set. Maybe the reviewer got there late. Oh well, beggars can’t be choosers – that is all I was able to find, so it will have to do. I know one thing, we sure are spoiled here by the detailed & observant reports we get from the likes of stoger, paul_from_losangeles, Lafayette & Disco Stu, aren’t we? 8)
Hopefully, there will be more “out there” on tonight’s show in Baltimore… YES INDEED: WHO MADE THE RAMSHEAD SHOW?

Thanks for fettering this out, Tom: several different songs from recent shows. Anyone have a complete setlist? Baltimore should be a goodie–hope to get reports after tonight.
I mean “ferreting” (as in tn tracy’s birdlike nosing around) rather than “fettering” of course–no shackles on this fan’s great reach, to be sure!

Then I think they look like twins. I’ll be there for all 3 NY shows and I am mighty stoked. Will you be there all 3 nights, Sto?
Better watch that “Sto” business, Rho: it’s only one vowel sound removed from one of our illustrious Wisconsinites on the forum, Stu of Disco Stu fame. Only first two, -hon.
stogerParticipantSickbed indeed. Thanks to all for your concern, but today broke cool and clear in the Upper South–as did my fever, for the most part. Only about 300 more miles to go before “home” and the working week confront me. Onward.
stogerParticipantYes, thanks for posting: though one wants to know which side of the virgule (that’s slash mark in the vernacular tongue) she went with on a couple of those slots. Like Lefty, I crave comments too. Where’s Disco Stu when you need him? Or ma Lafayette: great job with Bloomington, by the way.

I wonder if Mary Chapin Carpenter will be there tonight? I was at the Whole Foods in Charlottesville last month, and none other than MCC was the customer in front of me at the check-out line. The cashier said that she owns a horse farm in the area. Have fun, Stoger! 🙂
I’ll keep an eye out, West Words, for organic produce and for MCC. Too bad she didn’t make the wedding. Rain may be imminent for tonight, by the way.
stogerParticipantHey Rhon[da],
You’re mixing up your erstwhile Lucinda opening acts: Anne [with an -e] it was indeed. And you don’t have to use my pig Latin handle on this Friendly Forum. See you at Irving P? –oger

I too was struck early in your Milwaukee setlist by the repetition from wedding night, but clearly she mixed it up from there. All these details are much appreciated. I will be in Chicago for nights two and three, so we’ll share one of those in common, it would seem. I believe Lafayette is two and three also, so you’ll have a surrogate ma figure for those Lu in mid career tunes. Though she looks more like your older sister in that photo which has generated so many outings of ourselves in the other Forum stream. . . Who’s making Bloomington? If I don’t miss my guess, none other than the youthful Lafayette Herself.
stogerParticipantI would be the unsmiling (though happy) bearded gent hovering (lording it over?) the group in back. Paul, you’ve almost been outed, by process of elimination.

We had a great time meeting all of you! Beautiful night, hard to put into words what it meant to be there and have that experience. Looking forward to reading everyones posts about the night. I’m taking Sandy to the airport right now. Be well, Caroline
Glad you posted, Caroline, as there was some debate about the “y” versus “i” ending of your name, plus I had forgotten the six letter handle you told me you use on this Forum. By the way, I completely forgot too about those flowers you gave me to give Lu, just noticing them in my tweed pocket this morn. Oh well. HOpe you got some Lu face time, after 2:30 a.m.
As for “verbal prowess,” not sure I have this, tn tracy, but Paul’s account was quite comprehensive. We did hear two new stories (to me) of song’s origins, “Big Red Sun” referring to the name of an Austin gardening firm some of Lu’s friends started years ago, and “Concrete and BArbed Wire” penned at the time of the fall of the Berlin wall, about that event. During “Righteously,” Lu stumbled and said “I’m getting distracted looking back there at Tom; he’s so hot.” For some reason, Chet Lyster kneeled in front of Lu during two different songs, perhaps a lead-in to the clergyman’s appearance, perhaps an effect of his beverage consumption.
MOre will come to my mind later, but for now, good to meet Disco Stu, Sandy, Caroline with an “i,” and see again Lafayette, and Tn Tracy, and Paul from La and whoever I am forgetting. Oh, Bigsubi and Mercedes. Adios amigo y amiga.

Folks! In an hour we are landing in Minneapolis!!! 😀 😀 😀
Somebody will be at the Graves 601 Hotel???
Mercedes and me writing from the blue sky from Minnesota!!! By the way, very tired…What, wi-fi access in the air a full hour before landing? What’s next, completely legal jabbering on cellphones by passengers all the way across the Atlantic? Grrrh. At any rate, hope you are settled in the Graves by now, and I second tn Tracy’s invitation for tomorrow late afternoon/early evening.
