Thanks, lwj. “Cowboys and Canyons” may be worth showing up early for tonight. Any scoop on the third Florida show?
stogerParticipantThank you lwj. Some of my best friends are on Facebook, so no need to apologize. I guess I could observe the main page too, should I decide to carve out time for it.
Wow, first Blake as a farm animal sideman, and now Butch as a British percussionist. I look forward to the next comparison with David’s bass skills.
stogerParticipantPerhaps someone could excerpt or link just a comment or two here from FB, for us stalwart hold-outs?
stogerParticipantThanks for ferreting this out, Lafayette. A “goos[ing]” sideman never hurts a live show, true.
stogerParticipantWest Words, where are all your fellow Sunshine Staters lurking?
stogerParticipantSetlists/narrative reports?
stogerParticipantShe told me Lefty was “bald” too, lwj. No Buffalo for me. But do report for us.
stogerParticipantAlmost enough to make a man move west. . .
stogerParticipantHope “frottoir” is correct in zydeco/Cajun circles, west words–I might mean abbatoir. As for the talker behind us, let’s give her some credit: she “can’t believe” Lu played “Fruits of My Labor.” I mean, how many times did she murmur “I can’t believe” through its duration? Hard to think she could quote any of its lyrics, and even I was having trouble, given the undertones and overtones at our backs. Sheez.
Special shout-out to James the soundman, who’s leaving tour temporarily soon to mix a record. He will be missed.

Nice report, as always Stoger. It was good seeing you again. I hope you made it safely to your next destination and I look forward to reading your future reports from wherever the road takes you.
It was a real nice turnout and a very enthusiastic audience at The Pageant on Wednesday night. Lu sounded great and was in fine form. I am so impressed by the way Butch, David & Blake keep taking their interpretations of the songbook to the next level. I particularly enjoyed Blake’s playing on the new song, “Stowaway”; he sounded alot like Ry Cooder.Kudos to OTR as well.
Thanks, Mark, and I meant to add how gracious Karin was toward Lu, dedicating the final song of the final opener slot gig, “All My Favorite People,” to Lucinda. Ry Cooder is right, now that I’ve heard “Stowaway in Your Heart” a second time.

Cool show. Lucinda was great. Great band. The buzz after the show was that she was one of the best of the night. Greg Allman was a surprise and real good. He is playing the Ryman in Jan. 2012. Looking forward to Memphis tomorrow night. Hopefully get to hear the Dylan cover. Will be a long drive.
Great report by LWjetta. I tivo’d the show on NPR. Hopefully the sound quality is good. I will definitly she this show again next yr.
KellySo how was the boring I-40 drive through Jackson to Memphis? And the New Daisy show itself?
stogerParticipantThanks, Tom. Perhaps “Music Lover” will file a report here too.
stogerParticipantOh. I must correct the merch person’s name from my earlier post. She is Eileen, not Irene. Looking forward to the coastal Southern weather, she is.
stogerParticipantCan neither confirm nor deny but suspect that a “fresh” start in this Forum re: NC will be welcome from both the performer end and the spectator end.
stogerParticipantAye.
