StanParticipant
Hey John, thanks for the comments. I just listened to your songs….great job! I don’t usually judge songs on first listen, but overall, I enjoyed “Only Human” the most. You remind me of David Byrne of the Talking Heads….any influence?
And yeah, my “Incapable Cover” wouldn’t play for me last night either, but today it did, so if you want to waste another 2:30 of your life, it might work now? LOL
Hey, we’re neighbors…Michigan and Illinois. I get up to what they call Michiana about once a year to see friends.
To Tambourella…can you believe I fell asleep waiting for Lu last night?! Dam! I just worked 6 days in a row…about 50 hours. Lu didn’t come on till 11 at night (StL area)…I made the mistake of drinking 3 beers after work, and I was out by 10:30, I’m what’s known as a “cheap date.” Thanks for the heads up about Dec., 29th.
Rachel…let us know when you get a web site up and running.
Take care and Merry Christmas to all of you. (Gee, maybe I’ll wake up Christmas morning to find Lu under my tree, wearing nothing but a red ribbon and a smile?…Hey! I can dream!)

StanParticipantThanks for the responses…I’ve thought about Esscence and also Drunken Angel…also Real Live Bleedin’..” anyway…
Did a gig with some friends last Saturday and they did a nice low key version of “I Lost It.” I enjoyed it, not sure how well it went over in the bar, though?
My band is currently recording a new CD…once we have that done, we’re planning on putting up a web page..etc…My Space…whatever?
I became enamored with a girl on “You Tube” and I threw together a version of her song, and then wrote and recorded a song for her in one day, so it’s not the greatest.
I have an early version of a Roland VS digital recorder in my basement..so it’s fun to play all the parts. I use an Alexis drum machine, Strat, Gibson acoustic…etc..blah blah blah.
If you have time to kill…go to You Tube and do a search of HOOTSONGS There’s only two songs by me…”Incapable Cover,” and “This Is What Angels Must Sound Like.” I’m proud to say I play ukulele on the “Angels” song..Haha…just a happy little instrument.
Also…check out my favorite videos….and watch this band do a great cover of “Real Live Bleeding Fingers.”
I’m not much of a You Tube guy…no friends..no social networking..etc…just don’t have the time.
Merry Christmas to all of you. Stay safe.

I’ve heard of Emma Lou Harris, I dont even know if I wrote it like she says it, but I’ve never heard her.
Hi, don’t know if it’s still available, but “Profile: The Best of Emmylou Harris,” is a great place to start. It deals with her earlier years.
Also, “Wrecking Ball” is a killer album, and I even like the Mark Knofler/Harris album. (Forget the name)
Anything by Lu is great.
You might enjoy the “Trio” albums, which is Emmylou, Linda Ronstadt, and Dolly Parton singing like Angels from Heaven.
Whichever direction you take, you have a lot of great music ahead of you.
StanParticipantIf you’re a guitarist…You won’t believe “The Ventures Live in Japan 1965.”
It’s smoking! You’ll think it was recorded much later.
Nokie Edwards at his finest.
StanParticipantShut up and play your guitar, jeff..sheesh.
I have the right to say this…I’m from Belleville. I used to be in a band called Joe Camel & the Caucasians. Jeff will know and remember.
So much melodrama. Maybe he should stop giving interviews?
Or we can go back to B-Street and quaff a few?
Hoot (dammit..I couda been a contender….LOL)

4. Live in Japan 1965-The Ventures
5. Anthology-The Vapors

StanParticipantNeil Young?
The first time I saw Lucinda she opened for Neil’s Greendale tour.
I’m still pushing for Doug. Nothing against Elvis Costello, cause I love his music, but the song didn’t fit him…Doug had it down pat.

Lu and Stan
Sittin’ in a tree….Ummmm 😆
All joking aside, her intended’s name is Tom Overby. He’s currently managing her, and for all we know, they’ve slipped off and done the deed without telling the rest of the world.
Yes, my dear Rachel, but have they gotten married yet? Haha
StanParticipantAfter Esscence, you definitely need Car Wheels, World Without Tears, and West….in no particular order. The CD entitled simply “Lucinda Williams” is also a great disc.
Of course, I have all her stuff….but I’d also look for the DVD of her performance at Austin City Limits.
StanParticipantI hope Lucinda gives Doug the vocal to Jailhouse Tears.
He nailed it better than any version I’ve heard…IMO.

is a date set?
she’s gonna break my heart!
who’s the lucky guy?All I can say is, last year when Lucinda and Doug did their duo act at the pageant in St. Louis, I thought Doug was staring at my wife continually.
After the show, I mentioned this to my wife, and she said…”I thought the same thing, but I didn’t want to say anything.”
So…I’ll set up a meeting with Doug and my wife if he can set up a meeting with Lucinda and me. Haha!
StanParticipantThanks again Rachel…once again you’ve proven yourself to be the sweetheart of this forum. ( Next to Lucinda, of course…LOL)
By the way, I just picked up Escovedo’s “Boxing Mirror.”
Perhaps I’ll post a review when I have more time, but so far, great sounding album.
When I think about it…”ride things out” makes more sense with the following line…”shifted gears,” so I think you’re ride (opps..right) about that, too. LOL
StanParticipantGreat photos of the pedal board…thanks!
StanParticipantThanks for any help, Inside Job. I’ve always been curious about this.
If I could get more people to drop a line to Guitar Player magazine, maybe we could get an article….way overdue.
Send them an e-mail, everyone!
Here’s the link…if you page down…click on “Contact us.”

StanParticipantI’m sorry everyone, but if you can’t tell me what kind of gear Lucinda and Doug use, you’ll never get your degree in “Luology!”
If I was the professor, I’d have to give you an incomplete!
