SMParticipant
I watched it and thought it was a very flat performance. Something was wrong; I know there was an (unshown) false start to the show due to the presence of the photographers.
I don’t think it was weird booking her for a folk festival but it does seem that she’s heading a lot more down the ‘rock’ route of late.

is it my impression or in concerts lucinda doesn’t play “are you alright?” often?
i’ve also never seen “mama you sweet” in a setlist.
She did ‘Mama You Sweet’ at Sheffield in November 2007 when I saw her at The Plug.
SMParticipantThe tickets arrived this morning, so anyone else who ordered from the same place should have received theirs too.

Indeed…people around us were rather bemused as they left.
The applause was plentiful and genuine throughout the evening. Just because we don’t all feel the need to get up and dance around the hall doesn’t mean we aren’t thoroughly enjoying the show.
Things had seemed fine right up until the end.
SMParticipantJust in case anyone else is awaiting their tckets from ‘Seetickets’, I phoned them this morning to query my order and they said the tickets were ‘due to go out today’.
Cutting it a bit fine, methinks.
SMParticipantThanks, padchio.
I’ve done a bit of reading around and it seems that ‘seetickets’ usually send tickets at the very last minute (apparently to stop them being sold on!). So it’ll be a nervoud wait for the post for the next few mornings.
Meanwhile, I saw Lucinda at The Sage (Gateshead) last night. More thoughts will follow later, but in brief it was a great show but ended rather strangely with Lucinda apparently losing her cool and being critical of the audience for ‘not wanting to rock and roll’ during the encore.
SMParticipantHas anyone received their tickets for the Bridgewater Hall (Manchester) show yet?
‘Seetickets’, with whom I ordered tickets some time ago, are still saying they haven’t received their stock yet but it’s getting a bit close (30 July).
SMParticipantI booked online at seetickets.com. The process was very easy and the ‘best available’ were row D in the stalls, which I was happy with.
Looking forward to a great show. I saw her in Sheffield in 2007 and it’s very good news that she’s coming back so soon.
SMParticipantThere’s this one too, which I don’t think has been mentioned here yet (apologies if I’ve missed a thread):

It’s a big collection of all sorts of TV appearances, from several different eras between 1977 and 2007.
The quality of the recordings is quite variable (as is the colour of her hair!) but it’s a wonderful collection to have.
SMParticipantI’m off to see her tonight – in Newcastle 😀
SMParticipantThere’s some tour dates forthcoming:

Sounds great! Hopefully she’ll come and tour the UK in the not too distant future.
SMParticipantA lot of singers use teleprompters though, hidden away where the rest of us can’t see them. It’s probably not much different to using a book of lyrics. 😉
SMParticipantThere’s a small report here:

Thanks to Moondance for kindly letting me use the excellent photos. 😀
SMParticipantI bought the tour T-shirt at the Sheffield show; seems like very good quality.
I didn’t see any CDs for sale though and was hoping to pick up Doug Pettibone’s solo one. Looks like I’ll order it online now.
SMParticipantI was going to add my own personal order of recommendation…but I can’t better the one posted by Snaggletooth so I’ll just refer you back to that!
