Very much looking forward to the Coast Starlight experience stoger…. not kidding when I say inspired by you. Can’t wait!
The digs are similar to Manhattan except not quite as, ahem, “artsy”. Close to the Haight and (long) walking distance to G Gate… (not UCLA long mind you, but a couple miles 😉 ) Great free espresso machine in the lobby though… and as you know I’m a bit of a coffee snob..so, Great spot! http://www.hardlystrictlybluegrass.com/2016/On the same page, Viv..

Tony, I prepaid for a Quality Inn for the weekend ($77).. about 4 miles from venue.
Cancelable of course, and I am now trying to decide what option (if any) to take in the next week.If I decide to take a camping spot or not to make the trip.. I would gladly pass it along. Mike

Thinking of getting a camping spot instead for the three days and making it into a survival type trip 😀As much as I LOVE a live Rolling Stones show, the Saturday line-up with McCartney and Neil turns this from a one night opportunity into a near mandatory three day pass.
I believe I will take your recommendation and go out and buy a Jesse Malin record on this Record Store day, stoger.
Listened to a couple of his tracks online after your (literal) introducton to him at CW NY.Impressive.. thanks for the tip, I think I’ll start with the Mercury Lounge disc.

What a fine memory. And I deny any hand-twirling until someone describes the gesture more fully and convinces me of my mannerisms.
The infamous hand twirling resembles someone dialing an old fashioned wall phone, using several fingers.
(Best I Got) But.. when you see it, I can absolutely guarantee there is a real groove going’ on.Met stoger first (I believe) in Redding California at The Cascade Theatre. Great venue, killer show.
Found out since we have been at many, many Lu shows prior to meeting and now many since.
