Mike_DoranParticipantVery much looking forward to the Coast Starlight experience stoger…. not kidding when I say inspired by you. Can’t wait!
The digs are similar to Manhattan except not quite as, ahem, “artsy”. Close to the Haight and (long) walking distance to G Gate… (not UCLA long mind you, but a couple miles 😉 ) Great free espresso machine in the lobby though… and as you know I’m a bit of a coffee snob..so, Great spot! http://www.hardlystrictlybluegrass.com/2016/Mike_DoranParticipantOn the same page, Viv..
I will be keeping a lookout as well..
Maybe we’ll get lucky and there will also be a Fillmore (or??) show(s) surrounding this as well!Mike_DoranParticipantSold out before they hit the General Public sale… 🙁
Thought I should have signed up for their membership.. live and learn.Grrr.
Mike_DoranParticipantYou Gotta Move!!
From Berlin…
Mike_DoranParticipantProbably right stoger.. (hope so).
Losing Stuart (even short-term) from Lu’s crew would be like driving with One Headlight.

Cancelable of course, and I am now trying to decide what option (if any) to take in the next week.If I decide to take a camping spot or not to make the trip.. I would gladly pass it along. Mike
Mike_DoranParticipantSounds like a great night!
Thanks for the report, love how the crowd really does influence the show.May 3, 2016 at 5:28 pm in reply to: MEGA CONCERT – Dylan, Rolling Stones, McCartney, Neil Young #55143Mike_DoranParticipantTickets on sale Monday…(9th)
http://home.deserttrip.comBooked a room not far from venue before announcement and am now debating whether to go..
Thinking of getting a camping spot instead for the three days and making it into a survival type trip 😀As much as I LOVE a live Rolling Stones show, the Saturday line-up with McCartney and Neil turns this from a one night opportunity into a near mandatory three day pass.
Mike_DoranParticipantI believe I will take your recommendation and go out and buy a Jesse Malin record on this Record Store day, stoger.
Listened to a couple of his tracks online after your (literal) introducton to him at CW NY.Impressive.. thanks for the tip, I think I’ll start with the Mercury Lounge disc.

Would have been great meeting you, perhaps one day…
I was back here looking for the thread here you were so kindly offering to hold a ticket.
Thank you again, very nice.I am looking forward to making that Nashville/Memphis/etc. leg someday (maybe next year) and this one would have been a blast.
Thanks again and looking forward to the reports!Mike_DoranParticipantUnfortunately, (killing me) Not able to make the Mississippi/ Ryman leg of this run (after much effort).
Nice to see the Mountain Winery announcement though…got to be near the start of the West Coast/ Northwest fall run.
So there’s that. 😉 Aargh.Mike_DoranParticipant@stoger wrote:

Mr. Stoger, through a veil of tears, and the occasional sob, I seem to recall meeting you somehwere, perhaps the Hard Rock Cafe in Anaheim (?), Although I had seen you in Northampton MA lurking outside the Calvin Theater as Tim and I sped away into the night about a year earlier but we did not meet. 8)
Edit: I do not remember the hand twirl.
What a fine memory. And I deny any hand-twirling until someone describes the gesture more fully and convinces me of my mannerisms.
The infamous hand twirling resembles someone dialing an old fashioned wall phone, using several fingers.
(Best I Got) But.. when you see it, I can absolutely guarantee there is a real groove going’ on.Met stoger first (I believe) in Redding California at The Cascade Theatre. Great venue, killer show.
Found out since we have been at many, many Lu shows prior to meeting and now many since.
Good Times.Mike_DoranParticipantVery cool.
And “the” hole in your heart .. definitely adds so much.
Thanks for posting. -
