Thanks for the info. Looks like it will be a blast!
A two day ferry or a 49 hour drive, or a fairly short flight away for me, but unfortunately I already have a road/vaca trip
(Tedeschi-Trucks at Red Rocks!!) the seek before getting me back in time to catch the NW shows
but not enough time leftover for an extended trip to Alaska…The makings of a great trip…
To those that do make the trek, you have my most sincere… jealousy.Mike_DoranParticipant@TomOverby wrote:
Right now the only shows confirmed are Portland, Seattle and then our first trip up to Alaska. There might be a few shows before and after but nothing set yet.
Alaska!!.. Hmmmm
There’s actually a Ferry that goes that way not far from me….Plot thickens.
Mike_DoranParticipantPRE-SALE code for the Oregon Zoo is LION.
Got tix to both Oregon and Woodland Park Zoo’s.Fun Facts:
While pricing is similar, Portland’s Oregon Zoo tickets include regular zoo admission, while Seattle’s Woodland Park Zoo concert tickets do not. Although, likely not applicable to most, Woodland Park does not charge for admission for those under 12 and Portland does…Even though I was raised a few blocks from the Woodland Park Zoo,I have to admit, the Oregon one is a better zoo…if you’re into that kind of thing.
Hope some from the forum can Come Out West and see…

FYI –I wasn’t given a promo code for Portland so I’m not sure what is happening with that but will find out.
Thanks, Tom… (any further hints on which way y’all will be heading from Seattle would be much appreciated as well)
Either way, I am clearing my schedule at least several days prior and after in hopes of adding on to the two northwest dates!!

Try 2014Lucinda or Lucinda2014, Mike.
Thanks, stoger.. no luck on either.
For this venue, I’m not looking for the reserved seats, so I’m sure I’ll have no problem picking up three general admissions when they become available.. just anxious! A west coast swing in your future for this leg , perhaps??*********************************************************
I’d definitely like gold reserved for Portland. The Seattle shows up front haven’t been reserved in the past. Just be sure to get there early.[/quote]Yeah.. Portland does get tough, even if u arrive early.. rethinking purchase options now…

Seattles “zoo member” pre sale is this Wednesday..Mike_DoranParticipantBack to back Portland and Seattle Zoo’s!! July 30th and 31st… I’m thinking Vancouver/Spokane etc. maybe after those..??

dates… (he says without a hint of bitterness or jealousy at all…)Mike_DoranParticipantThis snippet from The Austin Chronicle.. “The evening began with Lucinda Williams delivering a simple, soulful reading of “Angel” on acoustic guitar. Dave Alvin and his Blasters brother Phil Alvin convincingly laid into Howlin’ Wolf’s “Killing Floor.”

And a pic from Lu’s Facebook from the stage.. with this caption “One minute before the start of last night’s Hendrix tribute show which Lucinda kicked off with her stunning solo version of “Angel”. It’s great when your tour mgr has cool photography skills-Lucinda mgmt

(not sure if the link will work) Would love to see footage of it if it pops up somewhere…
Mike_DoranParticipantAs predicted… Lu kicked off the Hendrix tribute with “Angel”…. Before heading to the Roost.
Mike_DoranParticipantHave a great time, Paul!

As paul_from_losangeles pointed out I think we have a suspect “tweet” about Butler Park.

Perhaps.. But then it would be two “mis-tweets”; the first from the organizer, and then the “re-tweet” from Lu..
Probably a brief “early” appearance would be my bet..

Sorry, but I’m confused. I don’t find Lucinda’s name in the link above for the Jimi Hendrix tribute.
More important, Lucinda is the featured (only?) act at the Roost, 15 miles north of Butler Park, at 9 PM.
Maybe, Lucinda could make an appearance at Butler Park, but it seems logistically difficult.Lucinda retweeted this morning.. Not sure of the logistics.. Wish I was there…

The amazing Lucinda Williams has been added to the Jimi Hendrix Celebration lineup at Butler on 3/13! http://ow.ly/ulzSN @HappyWoman9 -
