I looked at the setlist for the show at the Zoo I went to and it was not correct. Then I checked the upcoming concert in AR cause there was a link and they already have the future concert setlist posted.. (looks like a great show .. šŸ˜‰ )

Maybe what happens in Alaska …stays in Alaska.

I don’t understand; do you mean “they” have posted the Fayetteville roots list? Who/what is the antecedent? Is setlist.com different from setlistfm? I thought individual human beings posted to one or both–presumably POST show. I’m confused.

I’m available to list the songs coming up on August 30, if people are interested.

The “they” I referred to is the poster(s) at TourSet.com.. not to be confused with setlistfm which apparently posts the setlists after the show(s), which I think everyone can agree is the antecedent (I looked it up šŸ˜‰ ).

Still no verifiable setlist from AK, though.. Looking forward to and very interested in your remarks post show on the 30th though.. if they get it right, I ‘m going to see if they post horse race “results”…

    Yay.
What a great event this is.
Discovered it a couple years ago (in this forum) when Lu was rumored to be attending, but ultimately did not.

I made the trip anyway and was treated to a ton of great music and this is just the excuse I needed to return!
    Can’t wait.

Not sure if we should start putting together a search party yet for Lu and the band, but it’s definitely about time to consider one as there is no photographic, or any other, evidence that they arrived and/or played at the event.

Being the geographically closest FF member to the scene of the (potential) crime, I am clearing my schedule and preparing to join/lead the search party.

The only evidence that we have so far is a “review” written on the local CBS news site http://www.ktva.com/artists-steal-the-show-at-salmonstock-2014-342/ with a couple pics. The piece barely mentions Lu and has no pics of her performance.

Seems unfathomable to think that that you could attend a Lu headlining event, write an article about it, and not include at least a mention or a pic of Lucinda. Very suspicious, indeed.

    Standing by…. Mike

Nice video of the elephant and crowd pics at the Oregon Zoo, LW..

Vivian, I went to St. Benedicts and later Lincoln High, but split my time b’tween Wallingford and Capital Hill where my Dad lived.. very familiar w Yesler Terrace.. The crowd really did seem to appreciate It’s gonna Rain.. I know we did..

Took a few pics, but I am unable to attach them for some reason…

A nice review in the Times..

Bill Frisell joins Lucinda Williams for outstanding show | Concert review
    Posted by Charles R. Cross

    (Danny Clinch)

Anyone who attended the Lucinda Williams concert Thursday at Woodland Park Zoo saw not only one of Lucindaā€™s best local shows in years, but also the free ā€œbonusā€ of guitarist Bill Frisell joining Williamsā€™ band all night.

Frisell has done studio work with Williams, and heā€™s even sat in at some of her Seattle shows in the past. But on Thursday, he became the central part of the band all night, and his tasteful guitar was a constant counterpoint to Lucindaā€™s vocals.

Williams has played ZooTunes in the past, but she seemed particularly inspired on Thursday. That could have been because of Frisell (whom she called her ā€œfavorite guitarist in the whole worldā€), or it may have been the energy that came from several new songs in her set.

Particularly nice was a cover of J.J. Caleā€™s ā€œMagnolia,ā€ a song included on her forthcoming double album. Frisellā€™s restrained melodic flourishes on the cut made it a stunner at the Zoo, and the lyrics about lost love sounded as if Williams herself had penned them.

Williams also played many of her own songwriting classics, such as ā€œPineola,ā€ ā€œGet Right With God,ā€ and ā€œDrunken Angel.ā€ But it was another cover, this one of a Neil Young song, that ended the evening and got the entire crowd on its feet. Williams often includes ā€œRockinā€™ in the Free Worldā€ at her shows, but at a special concert, and with Frisell showing he also has rock guitar god moves, it was the perfect rockinā€™ ending to a fabulous show.

    Wow.
    What a great show.
It opened with “Can’t let Go” followed by Lu’s intro..
“Now a very special guest is going to join us… one of my favorite guitarists of all time”.. which really got my attention. She then introduced special guest guitarist and Seattle resident Bill Frisell who played out the setlist with the band.

    Pineola
    Drunken Angel
    Ventura
It’s gonna Rain (fitting city to first hear the song)
    Lake Charles
    Are you Down
    Something Wicked
    Changed the Locks
    Out of Touch
    Righteously
    Joy
    Honeybee
    Magnolia
    Get Right with God
Keep on Rockin’ in the Free World

    Near perfect summer night…
Always great to see Lucinda in the neighborhood I was born and raised in.

The place was packed.. we got great “seats” stage left.
In our site line there were two girls standing and taking turns doing what can only be described as a “sign language sing along” .. full of feeling; beautiful and amazing to watch..

First show we’ve taken our eight year old to since Redding, Ca.. a couple years ago now.
She loved it.. “Honeybee” was the song of the night for her..

    Killing Me…

Had to bail on my plans to take the relatively short ride down to Portland for the show..

Took a road trip/mini vacation to Denver to see The Tedeschi-Trucks Band at Red Rocks Amphitheater.
While the venue, show and the long road trip (2800+ mile) was fantastic, it took a bit longer than anticipated and I am now scrambling to catch up on work to the point where the Seattle show was in potential jeopardy…

I will make that one though, but extremely reluctantly had to cancel my hotel reservation in the Rose city today at the very last minute. Hope others are attending and I am hoping that this is the first and last NW Lu concert I have to miss..

Looks like a good time at a great place at Reggies …

Lots of fun watching the impromptu show being put together via FaceBook and Twitter..
Perhaps “Reggies” just earned regular stop status in the windy city…

Very few other performers, band members and managers would work so hard at making sure “the show goes on” than Lucinda, the band and Tom.
    Bravo!

(Lucinda mgmt) Just called Buddy Guy’s club – the girl I talked to didn’t want to put much effort in getting ahold of mgmt and I also got the feeling she might not have known who Lucinda was. Kind of reminded me of the story about Charlie Watts not being able to get into the Cabooze in Mpls where the Stones were doing a secret show. Oh well.
