Really nice job capturing the “essence” of Lu’s song..
    Got my vote as well.

    Great find.
    Thanks for posting..

A snippet or three of the afore-mentioned black and white treatment from the recording sessions might still fit nicely with the video.. maybe even just at the end..

Ambitious week of great music executed near perfectly logistically and otherwise, Tom.
    Bravo to all involved.

I must say though that even as a dedicated fan with time, a new vehicle to break in, and a desire to make all the NW shows… the Victoria show had to be cut early from the itinerary. Made five out of six of them though, and I was exhausted..and I just had to show up and relax! Hopefully they’ll be a second annual “World tour of the Northwest”…

    Yet another outstanding review:

    Of Note:
A reported (by venue) 3hr delay at the border had a lot of people nervous that the show would be late. No mention of it by Lu.. show went off on time after we all waited in lobby while they sound checked..
Lu took the stage at 9:15 and played until 11:25. She seemed in a great Valentines Day mood.. opening with “Happy Valentines Day!!” Great show… Commentary included dedicating Copenhagen to the people there as a result of the shootings there earlier in the day.. “when will it stop?”. The band..again..really were amazing. At Lu’s encouragement.. the house stood for the encore(s)!!

KBB opened and were joined by Lilly Mae for a couple songs…

    Side Note:
Burger at local pub afterwards.. watched as Stuart came in and sat at bar by himself totally unnoticed by many there who just came from giving him a standing O.. Normally don’t like to intrude… but had to shake his hand and thank him on his way out.. Amazing playing lately. David has also been really awesome of late.. throwing down the pick and really getting into it.

What a Marquee for another sold out show.

Just a big thanks to our West coast reporter Mike for covering all these sold out shows.
As much as I look forward to seeing the varied setlists your colour commentary ( i.e Lu for KBB) is great to add to the show.

Thanks so much, LW… It’s been a blast.
Love the pic from last night,I’ve only taken two pics at the recent shows.. This marquee and the one at the Aladdin.. (and it was only colour commentary for Victoria and Vancouver 😉 ..)

    Of Note:
    Buick 6 opened.
Pleasantly surprised to see the band open the show in Lu of KBB…
Played a great set that the crowd loved finishing with a humorous Butch promoting the Buick 6 cd..telling the crowd that it was “cheaper than Lucinda’s” .. and then ending with Lu will be out “when she feels like it..” 🙂

Lu took the stage at 9:06 and played right about two hours..
Another great show.. the band really is firing on all cylinders and then some.
Love all the assortment of accessories that Butch has been using more and more creating some great effects..
And another epic version of Unsuffer Me as well..

    Side Note..
Apparently Billy Idol is still hugely popular as the border guard going in to Canada asked if my wife and I were going to see him and then the American guard on the way back asked if that’s the show we were returning from..

Apparently I missed Miranda.. although I am not sure I would have known her if she was next to me…

I like this line from that review… “: Lucinda is back, even if she never really left in the first place.”

I also attended the Seattle show. Thanks again, Mike, for your report.

To interject my version of the setlist, I listed the first 4 songs as:

    1. Blessed
    2. Car Wheels
    3. Drunken Angel
    4. I Lost It

The songs then follow Mike’s list, so that Honey Bee ended the main set as #18 (although appearing as the 17th entry in Mike’s list).

A good show, but with limited alcohol (except for Lucinda’s wine). As with many Seattle venues, the show was sold as all-ages. Accordingly, although there was a bar at the rear, the alcoholic beverages could not be removed beyond the roped area surrounding the bar. Consequently, the audience standing nearer the stage remained quite sober, without the spilling of drinks, or the constant traffic of refills.

Thanks Paul… In my attempt at a defense.. I was scribbling titles in compromised lighting and positions on the same copy of a setlist that I snagged at the first Portland show.. I must have crossed wires somewhere, but I not only like your version better.. but now (kinda) remember it.. 😀

Perhaps you haven’t heard good sir, but Lu has been re-working some tunes lately and Bus to Bat…
Oh, never mind. Baton Rouge it is.

Funny thing about the repeat Lake Charles listing…
I honestly don’t know now as three shows in three nights has left me a little (more than usual) confused..

I wrote Lake Charles twice.. but that doesn’t seem likely, so here’s hoping Tom and Tony’s post clear the mystery..

Great report Mike! The Chet’s last name is Lyster. 😀

THE Chet indeed, former multi-instrumentalist for the band, including during the era of Lu’s wedding.

    Good posting Mike.

He looked familiar.. not sure if I caught him back then or not..
Two things struck me… first, I was impressed with how well he knew the songs and second..MAN, could he play..

Hope he joins in again tonight..
I always like when there’s another guitarist w/the band..and Lu seems to as well..
When mama’s happy.. or something like that.

    PS
Grammy’s loss… my (and the rest at the concert’s) gain.

I believe you will see some different KBB personnel in the bass and drum slots, Mike.

Interesting… Does Lilly Mae still sit in with the band??

I believe she will when she can, despite the absence of her sibling.

It looks like she will be along for the tour…

And playing with Jack White on the Tonight Show tonight…

    From KBB Twitter
“Lillie Mae will be playing with Jack White on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon tonight! Then she is joining us for this next Lucinda tour!! First show tomorrow in Napa! Woot! “

Did anyone notice the Fillmore dates are rescheduled to March 3 and 4? Can we expect more additions to the West Coast Tour 2015?

Although I was unable to make the Feb dates at the Fillmore, (and may be able to make the March ones!).. my concern lies not in the opportunity for more west coast dates, but am (likely needlessly) concerned about the potential for more cancellations of existing dates due to illness or the like. Hope it was just a venue issue….
