Thanks for the recommendations, viv. From the clips and links to the artists they look to be great ones. The Milk Carton kids and M Ward are now high on my list. I will report back.. a lot of great music from the festival is also live streamed (Lucinda was last year)! Looking forward to three days of great music!

Thanks for the setlist and info stoger!!

I had guessed (although it may have already been known) when I first heard the song that Ghost of Hwy 20 might be the title track of the upcoming album.. Just too great a title. Can’t wait.

The dates are Fri. Sat. Sun.- Oct. 2 – 4 Tony, and the entire event is free!

They haven’t released the complete performer stage/time schedule yet, but it will be coming soon.

    It was billed as a debut… 8)
I missed the “true debut” notes… Likely because of how much envy I had for those in attendance.. 😕

And yes indeed.. Good luck to Lu and Tom and Stuart tonight!!

Love the single and the collaboration!
Had more of an early Rock n Roll feel like early Beatles even to me.. great cover and duet!

Not sure I’ll buy the album but will purchase my first ‘single’ in quite some time on Oct. 30…

    Here’s a link to lead Belly’s version..

So glad to have been able to make it to a few of the “never been to before” venues along the way on this tour. it was great to see the enthusiasm of the crowds.. Olympia, my hometown Bellingham and the amazing enthusiasm in Missoula were all summer highlights for me… also loved the festival in Billings.

Thanks to all for enduring the Misery Tour.. it was Magical!!

Periscope is an app recently bought and then launched by Twitter..
It basically lets anyone with the app on their phone broadcast or “live stream” anything.. utilizing the camera on the device. People who follow on Twitter get a notice when the person goes live with something.. and then you can watch.

I became kind of addicted to it during the recent Stones tour.. the shows I couldn’t go to I could watch live on my computer and even pick which “camera” to watch as there were many to choose from as the app became more popular as the tour rolled on. Mixed feelings about it though, as I am not one who enjoys people holding up cell phones at concerts… A large stadium show is one thing.. but a smaller inside venue not so much.. Also wonder how welcome it is by the artists as I could see it affecting ticket sales and making bootlegs etc.

Very cool technology though.. especially for behind the scenes stuff like the studio footage..

Missed a couple great ones in Phoenix..
Thought for sure when I last saw stoger at the train station in Spokane, he might be getting home and then hopping a plane to Phoenix…

Great tour, glad I was able to catch a few northwest shows..

The crowd that sold out Top Hat in a few hours at first looked like they perhaps just wanted an excuse to party. The non-stop chatter and loud talk during both opening acts had Butch getting everyone’s attention when Buick 6 closed by dropping the f-bomb in nearly every sentence. “We’re also Lu’s band so get used to F’ing seeing us tonight” …” So go back there and buy our f’ing album”.. All good natured fun, but it got (most) everyones attention..

When Lucinda took the stage to sing Passionate Kisses solo she got the rest of the crowd’s attention.. and kept it. The band really sounded great and Lu’s voice was exceptional. Found myself thinking that they had never sounded better, and then thought about how many times I’ve said that… Still.. it rang true again last night with Amazing versions of Those Three Days, Unsuffer Me, Atonement, along with the whole setlist.

Also glad you were able to get to the show, Dan and more than a little jealous of your trip to the southwest.. Keep us “posted”..

Had a great time traveling between the Montana shows with stoger.. A road warrior like no other..
    (took plenty of notes).

    Great concert.

Opening with Righteously was a really nice surprise… and then getting Real Live Bleeding Fingers three songs in had me convinced this was going to be a great setlist.. and it was! Near the end of the concert

About halfway through the concert it dawned on me that this was exactly what my summer was missing… a live Lu show outdoors. Got my fix and then some from this show. Near the end of the show, Lu seemed to really get something from the crowd as well.. talked of the great energy (something about not wanting to come off too hippyish 😉

    Great show..on to Missoula!

    Sorry I missed that one….
Officially in Montana now though. Lots of bikers in town (Butte) in route to Sturgis apparently.
Leave for Billings in the AM where perhaps the narrative will continue.. The great music certainly will!
